Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs Open Thread The Los Angeles Chargers kick off the 2018 season at home taking on division rival Kansas City Chiefs. Last year’s AFC West division champion is currently riding an 8-game winning streak against Philip Rivers and co. This is a new year and new teams on both sides Youth Desmond King Jersey , however. The Chargers have finally constructed an offensive line that can be expected to both protect Rivers and open up holes in the running game. The defense while missing Joey Bosa has received an infusion of athleticism in the form of Kyzir White and Derwin James. And on the other side of the field, the Chiefs no longer have their veteran signal caller Alex Smith and are instead starting Patrick Mahomes who will be playing in just his second NFL game. The Chiefs also traded away their star cornerback Marcus Peters in a deal that left them weaker this year.Still, Andy Reid is one of the more innovative coaches in the league and he has had the whole offseason to come up with new wrinkles that have not yet been committed to tape Youth Drew Kaser Jersey , so the Chargers will have their hands full today. Hopefully, we will get a different result from the last four years.Go Chargers!Los Angeles Chargers at Arizona Cardinals Open Thread The 2018 regular season is still weeks away, but tonight we get out first look at the Los Angeles Chargers in game action as they take on the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale. We will have to wait at least another week to get a look at the inactive Philip Rivers http://www.chargersfootballauthentics.com/kyzir-white-jersey-authentic , Keenan Allen, Casey Hayward, Joey Bosa Womens Isaac Rochell Jersey , and Trevor Williams with the former three being eased into the preseason as veterans and the latter two battling injuries. We will, however, get our first look at the 2018 NFL Draft class and that should be exciting given the kind of athleticism and talent that Tom Telesco added during the draft. There are plenty of exciting players on both offense and defense. Thanks to all who have been checking out my weekly NFL picks this season Youth Stephen Gostkowski Jersey , and I’m just moments away from unveiling my official pick for Super Bowl 53. But before we get to that, let’s take a moment to talk about how this Super Bowl Sunday is completely jam-packed with Boston sports action.I mean, seriously 鈥?(in my best Chandler Bing voice) 鈥?could there BE any more sports???As if the Patriots playing in their third straight Super Bowl wasn’t enough for one day, the Celtics and Bruins are both playing early games the very same day. And they are both playing huge games against really good teams on national television. This is a humongous Sunday for Boston fans, one that will require about eight straight hours of being parked on the couch with eyes glued to the TV.First, in the early afternoon, the Bruins (reeling from back-to-back OT defeats, but still in the midst of a pretty good season) are in Washington to take on the reigning Stanley Cup champions. The Capitals and Bruins are boasting almost identical records. Hey, this would be a pretty good day for David Pastrnak to complete that hat trick he almost had on Thursday against Philadelphia, am I right? And then a little bit later in the afternoon, the Celtics are at home at the Garden to face the Oklahoma City Thunder, currently the No. 3 team in the Western Conference. With Kyrie Irving going against Russell Westbrook, this could be one of the biggest point guard duels of the season. And by pure coincidence, the Celtics and Thunder also have nearly identical records. How weird is that?By Sunday night, we’re going to be completely wiped out (hopefully in a good way). Not only do Boston fans have to deal with Jared Goff and Todd Gurley in the evening, but we also have to survive Westbrook and Paul George in the afternoon. I recommend having plenty of beer on hand, because we might need it.So just to sum up what’s happening in the Boston sports scene this Sunday: the Bruins play the defending champions White Trey Flowers Jersey , the Celtics play one of the NBA’s hottest teams in what could be a potential Finals matchup, and the Patriots play the terrifying Rams in Super Bowl LIII. Are we sure that’s enough for one day?You know what? Just to top it off, I think we should try and convince the Red Sox to play a one-game playoff against the Yankees with the winner earning the rights to Bryce Harper. And now, I present to you my final pick of the season 鈥?the official Super Bowl 53 prediction.SUPER BOWL LIII: Mercedes-Benz Stadium — Atlanta, GeorgiaNew England Patriots (-2.5) vs. Los Angeles RamsGoodness, how times have changed since the last time the Patriots and Rams met in the Super Bowl. Back then, it was the no-name Patriots as 14-point underdogs against “The Greatest Show on Turf.” And what was the result? Patriots 20, Rams 17.Seventeen years later, it’s the dynasty Patriots as 2.5-point favorites against the best Rams team we’ve seen since the “Greatest Show” days. It’s literally a matchup of the past vs. the future. And there are some really interesting connections here. Let’s look at a few points:—It’s the greatest coach ever (Bill Belichick) at age 66 against a guy who could potentially someday be considered one of the greatest coaches ever (Sean McVay) at age 33 — exactly half Belichick’s age.—It’s 41-year-old Tom Brady, who has won more Super Bowls than any quarterback in history with five, against 24-year-old Jared Goff, who might have a couple of rings himself in a few years. Brady was 24 years old when he won his first ring.—The Patriots defeated the Rams in Super Bowl 36, and it jumpstarted the single greatest dynasty in NFL history. Five championships and nine Super Bowl appearances in 17 years. Now, the Rams have a chance to defeat the Patriots in Super Bowl 53, and potentially begin the NFL’s next great dynasty.Am I sensing a little bit of irony here? It almost feels like a script written directly out of Hollywood. But here’s the twist: Brady is far from ready to let another dynasty usurp the one he has built. Remember the absolute fire, determination, competiveness White Phillip Dorsett Jersey , will and spirit that he displayed against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game two weeks ago? You can expect to see more of the same against the Rams on Sunday. Brady is well aware that the whole world is sick and tired of watching the Patriots in the Super Bowl. He knows it, and he loves it. I’ve been saying for two weeks that the game in Kansas City was arguably the most impressive win of his career because it was a game that, on paper, he had no business winning. And yet, he just simply REFUSED TO DIE. No matter how many knock down punches the Chiefs threw at him, he kept coming back, time and time again. One of my favorite movie quotes of all time came from the late, great Tony Burton in “Rocky II.” While World Heavyweight Champion Apollo Creed was desperately trying to trash talk Rocky Balboa into a rematch for the title, Burton’s character (Apollo’s trainer) tried to warn him by saying, “I saw you beat that man like I never saw no man get beat before, and the man kept 鈥?coming 鈥?after you.” That was Brady against the Chiefs. The Patriots kept getting knocked down, and Brady kept bringing them back until they finally won the game, 37-31, in overtime. On Sunday, it’s the Rams’ turn to experience the exact same thing.Prediction: Patriots 35, Rams 34(BEAT LA! BEAT LA!)Patriots bring in wide receiver Kenny Britt for a workout, could re-sign him if healthy Entering the 2018 offseason http://www.authenticsnewenglandpatriots.com/cheap-kyle-van-noy-jersey , the New England Patriots had big expectations for wide receiver Kenny Britt: the 2017 in-season addition was seen as a potential beneficiary of the team’s turnover at the wide receiver position. However, things did not turn out as hoped as a hamstring injury limited the former first-round draft pick throughout training camp and the preseason and ultimately led to his release. One month has passed since Britt was let go and it now looks as if the soon-to-be 30-year old could be on his way back – at least according to a report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:If Britt indeed re-signs with the Patriots, he would be the latest player to walk through the revolving door that is the team’s wide receiver position. While Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson are all safe, the team has had multiple players in town that failed to capture the fourth spot on the depth chart – from Britt himself to Malcolm Mitchell, to Jordan Matthews, to Chad Hansen, to Bennie Fowler, just to name a few.Adding Britt again would make sense, though: he has experience in the team’s system and would be a physical option as a perimeter receiver, something the team lacks at the moment. The nine-year veteran would join Hogan, special teams ace Matthew Slater, as well as fellow former first-rounders Dorsett, Patterson and Corey Coleman on the Patriots’ position depth chart.According to NFL Network’s Mike Giardi, the Patriots also have another wide receiver on their radar: the aforementioned Jordan Matthews “remains local” and could become an option further down the line. Like Britt, Matthews’ first tenure with New England came to an end because of a hamstring injury.

The New Orleans Saints are closer to getting back their second-highest-paid offensive player as they try to rebound from a first loss in more than two months 鈥?and lock down a playoff berth.Starting left tackle Terron Armstead returned to practice Wednesday New Orleans Saints Hoodie , marking his first time in pads since his pectoral injury at Cincinnati in Week 10. The injury cost Armstead three games, including New Orleans' loss last Thursday night in Dallas, when the Cowboys' defensive line consistently pressured quarterback Drew Brees and limited the Saints' ground game to 65 yards 鈥?the fewest since Week 2."He's a difference maker for sure and big confidence when he's there on the left side," Brees said of Armstead, who has been a starter since late in his rookie season in 2013, but who also has been beset by various injuries much of his career.Armstead, listed as "limited" on the club's practice report Wednesday, said his recovery has been "going pretty well" and that he might be ready to play Sunday against Tampa Bay."Time away, that's never great. You get in a rhythm so much with your guys up front 鈥?my technique, my timing 鈥?so that will be a learning curve and adjustment," Armstead said, adding he at least hopes the rest of his body benefited from recent rest as high-stakes games approach."I've been battling injuries for a long time Youth Customized New Orleans Saints Jerseys , so definitely hard to find positives in an injury for me," Armstead said. "But just thinking of it ... my body definitely has some things, some bumps and bruises, and I took the time and benefited off of it for sure. But I would much rather have been playing."Right guard Larry Warford said Armstead's return to practice was good for morale, even if it's not yet clear when he'll be ready."I'm just happy that it seems that he's making progress," Warford said. "He's one of the best, if not the best, left tackle in the league. Unfortunately, he's had injuries hinder him throughout his career."The Saints would win the NFC South with one more victory, or a loss by Carolina, who New Orleans plays twice in the final three weeks of the regular season. Whether the Saints remain in contention for one of the coveted top two seeds in the conference and receive a first-round bye, depends on how they respond to their first loss since Week 1.In New Orleans' locker room www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com , players predicted that the 13-10 loss in Dallas, which halted a 10-game winning streak, was more likely a brief stumble than the beginning of a slump."Sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war and you learn a lot from something like that," Brees said. "I just think we had a bad day. You turn on the film and it's glaringly obvious where we failed and we have to make sure that doesn't happen again."On New Orleans' defense, confidence is surging after a seven-sack, two-takeaway performance in Dallas that also marked the fourth straight game holding an opponent to 17 or fewer points.Against the Cowboys, the Saints' normally prolific offense was the unit which struggled most. But since offense-minded coach Sean Payton and Brees joined forces in New Orleans in 2006, that side of the ball rarely has stagnated for more than a rare game.Brees said the opportunity to clinch the NFC South for the second straight year is "significant," and would be a "first step" toward more lofty postseason goals. He said the Saints' commanding four-game lead in the division with four games left speaks to the quality of football they played during their winning streak, when they became the only team to beat the Los Angeles Rams and won several other games by wide margins."That was a great run. We gained a ton of confidence, a ton of momentum," Brees said. "We had a ton of guys step up and play really well 鈥?guys that we're going to need down the stretch."We really established an identity for ourselves as an offense and a defense New Orleans Saints T-Shirt ," Brees added. "We know how to play winning football."NOTES: Saints leading receiver Michael Thomas did not practice Wednesday and his ankle was cited as the reason on the club's injury report. However, he was present at practice and the Saints regularly err on the side of resting top-performing veterans when they have soreness, particularly early in the week. ... In addition to Armstead, DT David Onyemata (hip) and right tackle Ryan Ramczyk (shoulder) were listed as limited in practice. ... Tuesday Open Thread: September 18 Cheap Kirk Cousins Jersey , 2018 Merry Tuesday, everyone!I’m guessing the kicker moves the team made yesterday helped soothe the sting of that missed kick on Sunday. I was glad the team made the move. Normally, you like to wait until after anger has subsided before making big decisions, but when a significant upgrade is available, and it doesn’t cost you a lot to cut the current guy, you make the move. It was the right move because a solution was available, and the team is fortunate that Dan Bailey, one of the league’s most accurate kickers, happened to be available. I’ll feel much better at the end of a game, if we need a kick to win it, and Bailey is out there rather than Carlson......or Walsh. Good move http://www.vikingscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-rashod-hill-jersey , in my opinion.Around the DN since our last open thread:Ted shared the reports about Carlson being waived, and that the Vikings are going to sign Dan Bailey. The Vikings signed WR Aldrick Robinson, per Lucas Ailport.Jerry Jones was a guest on.......his own radio show (he’s lucky he was available) and gave some insight into why they released Bailey, per Skelly10.Eric points out five game-changing plays from Sunday. I’ll venture a guess that one of the plays is a missed 35-yard field goal, just a guess.Saxyprince posted Climbing the Podcast: Episode 109 [Instant Reactions: Week 2].Ted looks at the salary cap implications of two potential moves that many fans want to see happen (and then one of them did happen). The latest episode of Good Morning Gjallarhorn is up, go give it a listen.Chris looks at the reason behind this new rule on tackling quarterbacks.Ted was on the KFGO Morning Show in Fargo to talk some Vikings.Lucas Ailport picks the studs and duds from Sunday’s game.Vikings news from other sources and news from around the league:At Vikings.com, catch Coach Zimmer’s Monday presser, Adam Thielen thinks highly of Kirk Cousins’ leadership ability, and there’s plenty more to dig through in the media vault. The Bears defeated the Seahawks last night on Monday Night Football, per ESPN. Yes, you read that right. We come to today’s media selection:I’m not a huge fan of Adam Sandler http://www.vikingscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-eric-kendricks-jersey , but this song seems fitting, so I’ll play it. Enjoy!Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:No discussion of politics or religionNo feeding of the trollsThis isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the doorKeep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tagsNo pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employerIf you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go awayWhile navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasmWith that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress Cheap Ben Gedeon Jersey , and try the head cheese.David Morgan named by Pro Football Focus as “Secret Superstar” When you run down the list of weapons in the Minnesota Vikings’ offense, it generally takes you a while before you get to tight end David Morgan. In his two seasons with the team he’s had just 11 receptions (ten of which game this past season) and has found the end zone just once. However, it appears that he could be getting the reputation of being an vastly underrated player.Pro Football Focus has put together a list of “Secret Superstars” from offenses across the National Football League, and Morgan makes the list for what he’s done for the Vikings over the past two years.Delanie Walker is a heck of a guy to be compared to as a tight end. As the PFF piece says, Walker began his career with the 49ers, and actually played seven seasons there, remaining relatively anonymous. He signed with the Tennessee Titans before the start of the 2013 season, and has had over 800 yards receiving in each of the last four seasons (including a 1,088 yard season in 2015) and has had over 100 targets in all of those seasons. Of course, he just turned 34 years old, so he’s closer to the end of his career to the beginning. Hopefully Morgan won’t have to wait quite that long to see his production increase dramatically. With as stacked as the Vikings are on offense Sheldon Richardson Jersey , Morgan is likely going to be one of those guys that gets lost in the shuffle and will get a larger opportunity somewhere else, as the PFF article suggests. Or, at some point, he may end up being Rudolph’s successor and move up the ladder to the #1 tight end spot, no doubt mentoring the next David Morgan as the #2 tight end.We say this sort of thing whenever we talk about underrated players like this, but every team needs a bunch of David Morgans to be successful. Sure, it’s nice to have a bevy of superstars like the Vikings have, but on a roster of 53 players, you need guys that aren’t big names to contribute as well. Here’s hoping that Morgan can continue being a strong contributor to this Vikings’ roster.

It’s time for our weekly look at the matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and their upcoming opponents. This week it’s the Seattle Seahawks. Since Seattle used to reside in the AFC White Laquon Treadwell Jersey , these two conference foes haven’t faced off as often as you might think over the years, despite some very notable recent meetings.Once again, the numbers provided in this piece are all provided by the fine folks at Pro Football Reference.Total Games Between the Seahawks and Vikings: 15All-Time Record: Seahawks, 9-5 regular season, 1-0 postseasonTotal Vikings Points Scored, Head-to-Head: 333 (22.2 points/game)Total Seahawks Points Scored, Head-to-Head: 384 (24.0 points/game)Longest Vikings Winning Streak vs. Seahawks: 2 (22 October 2006 - 22 November 2009)Longest Seahawks Winning Streak vs. Vikings: 4 (4 November 2012 - 10 January 2016)Most Recent Vikings Victory in Seattle: 22 October 2006 (Final score 31-13)Most Recent Seahawks Victory in Seattle: 17 November 2013 (Final score 41-20)Biggest Vikings Victory in Seattle: 18 points, 22 October 2006 (Final score 31-13)Biggest Seahawks Victory in Seattle: 25 points, 29 September 2002 (Final score 48-23)Current Win Streak: Seahawks, 4 gamesA few notes about this series of games:The Seahawks are currently enjoying the longest winning streak in the history of this matchup, winning the last four contests between the two teams. It has been just over nine years since the Vikings were victorious against the Seahawks in a 35-9 home rout led by Brett Favre. You might remember the last time these two teams saw each other. It was really cold, it was the playoffs, and...you know what? I don’t want to talk about that game anymore. We all know how it ended. Technically the last time these two teams played each other was Week 3 of the 2018 preseason. THAT game was fun! It was a thrilling 21-20 victory for the Vikings back in August. Kyle Sloter threw an incredible touchdown pass to Chad Beebe and then Jake Wieneke scored on the two-point conversion with under a minute left. That preseason comeback win TOTALLY overshadows some meaningless Wild Card game a few years back, right? The last two times these teams met in Seattle back in 2013, they were much further apart in the standings than they are in 2018. The lowly 2-7 Vikings were in the middle of Leslie Frazier’s death march while the 9-1 Seahawks were on their way to a Super Bowl title. The results were predictable: a 41-20 Seattle beatdown where the Vikings lost four turnovers and Russell Wilson only had to throw 18 passes to get to 230 yards and two scores. Vikings fans were treated to interceptions by both Christian Ponder AND Matt Cassel that day. But at least they held Percy Harvin to one reception for 17 yards in his first game against the Vikings after being traded. And Blair Walsh made all four of his kicks that day! (Bet you didn’t think that’s how Walsh was going to be mentioned in this post, did you?)We’re pretty sure Monday night’s game will be closer than the last contest these two teams played in Seattle, especially with so much on the line for both teams. Hopefully the Vikings can reverse their recent trend against the Seahawks and take control of the NFC Wild Card race. Happy Wednesday http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-xavier-rhodes-jersey , everyone! We’ve made it to the peak of the week, it’s an easy downhill coast into the weekend, and the next big game for our beloved purple and gold. I hope they’re keeping their focus on Detroit, because we’ve seen the Lions dig deep and play well above their seasonal average when they play the Vikings. On paper, it looks to be one that the Vikings should be able to handle, but you can throw that paper out the window when it comes to divisional games, especially at this point in the season. It’s the end of the season, the Lions have nothing to lose, and they would like nothing more than to knock off a division rival who has their eye on the playoffs. So, the Vikes better be prepared, and I am confident they will be. The Lions defense has had a decent year, they’re about at the middle of the pack in most statistical categories, with the pass defense slightly above average, and the run defense slightly below average. In a deviation from the norm, it’s their offense that has been hurting them, and that is mainly due to a rash of injuries. Their WR corps was bombarded with injuries early in the season, and it has shown in their production. The Vikings secondary is very good in coverage http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-matt-wile-jersey , so I expect to see Detroit try to get the ball out quickly. If they have Stafford sit back in the pocket waiting for a WR to get open, the defense may shatter that single game team sack record that they tied earlier this season. In looking through some stats, I see that the Vikings are 4 for 11 this year on field goals from 40-49 yards. That’s 36%. Might as well just go for it on 4th if the ball is between the 23 & 33 yard lines, the conversion % would likely be higher than 36%. They’ve also managed to miss at least one field goal in every 10-yard incremental category, with the exception of the 10-19 yard category. That’s right, we have not missed a field goal from 10-19 yards this year! We haven’t attempted one, either, but hey, no need to get bogged down in details, gotta celebrate the little victories. If we’re down by 2 points with 3 seconds left in a playoff game, and we line up for a 40 yard field goal to win it, I’m relatively certain that I’ll have a heart attack before he ever kicks it. My dying words will be something about kickers being the root of all evil.........and I’ll also likely blame Ponder, to the confusion of the attending paramedics.Around the DN since our last open thread:Luft Krigare posted Good Morning Gjallarhorn Episode 041 - In the Raw With the Grand Poobah.Ted takes a look at Brian O’Neill, who is quietly having a pretty good rookie year. Good for him. You commit a wrong, you own it, you take steps to become better, and you move on. That’s all you can ask of someone. We come to today’s media selection:Alright Vikings, you had aspirations coming into the season, and you can still get there, so finish what you started.Again White Trae Waynes Jersey , we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:No discussion of politics or religionNo feeding of the trollsThis isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the doorKeep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tagsNo pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employerIf you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go awayWhile navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasmWith that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. It wasn’t the high-flying shootout that so many of us expected White Ben Gedeon Jersey , but at the end of the day, the New England Patriots will take it.In the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in NFL history, the Patriots took down the Los Angeles Rams by a final score of 13-3. It’s the sixth title for the Patriots in the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick era.The only scoring in the first half came on a 42-yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski in the second quarter, as the two teams went into halftime with the Patriots leading, 3-0. The Rams tied it up after a 53-yard field goal by Greg Zuerlein to tie things at 3-3. Zuerlein’s field goal was the first 50+ yard field goal in a Super Bowl in 15 years, and would wind up being the only points the Rams would generate in this contest.New England finally put a ball into the end zone midway through the fourth quarter, courtesy of a 1-yard touchdown run by Sony Michel. That made the score 10-3 in favor of New England. On the ensuing drive, it looked like the Rams might be able to answer, but Jared Goff threw what was probably his worst pass of the game, a pass that was picked off by Stephon Gilmore at the New England 4-yard line. The Pats managed to run out most of the clock from there, and set up a 4th-and-inches deep in Rams territory. Rather than going for it http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-rashod-hill-jersey , Belichick called on Gostkowski again, and he put one just inside the left upright from 41 yards out to provide the final margin for the Patriots. The Most Valuable Player award went to Patriots’ wide receiver Julian Edelman, who had a monster game for New England. He finished the night with 10 catches for 141 yards and seemed to be open whenever Brady needed him all night long. So, the Patriots dynasty continues, as they win their sixth Super Bowl title, taking down the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII, 13-3.And now, it’s time to start looking forward to September. Or at least the NFL Draft in about 11 weeks. Last year, when Florida State running back Dalvin Cook fell out of the first round of the NFL draft, the Vikings made an aggressive trade to move up early in the second round to get him and install him as the heir apparent to future Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson.Through the first four games, it looked like one of the best trades GM Rick Spielman ever made Youth Everson Griffen Jersey , as Cook started out with over 350 yards rushing in his a little over three and a half games. In his fourth game, though, he tore his ACL against Detroit, and was lost for the season. It was thought that he would be an integral cog in the 2018 offense, but he started slow, only rushing for 78 yards in his first two games. He hurt his hamstring in week three in a loss to Buffalo, aggravated his injury against the Los Angeles Rams a week later, and has been out ever since. All signs were pointing to him playing against Arizona, but he tweaked his hamstring again during warmups and was a late scratch. Now, comes this from Vikings ESPN beat reporter Courtney Cronin:If true, Cook will miss two games before the Vikings break for their bye week Youth Adam Thielen Jersey , against the Saints this Sunday night and then Detroit. Although it’s another tough break for Cook, who’s missed 14 games in his two year career, the decision by the Vikings to keep Latavius Murray has really paid off. Murray has rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns in the last two games, including a career high 155 yards against Arizona two weeks ago. In last Sunday’s 37-17 win over the New York Jets, Murray ran for 69 (nice) yards, and had touchdown runs of 11 and 38 yards.Hamstrings can be tricky injuries, and although it’s frustrating, the Vikings can afford to keep Cook sidelined until he’s fully healthy, and ready for the stretch run. For now, they’ll just ride the Tay Train.

6 quick-hit thoughts on the Patriots and the NFL before the regular season opener Today Cheap Cordarrelle Patterson Jersey , the wait is finally over – at least for the NFL fan whose interest in the game is not strictly limited to one team: the reigning world champion Philadelphia Eagles will host the Atlanta Falcons for the 2018 regular season opener! Ask any Chargers fan who is considered the team’s rival and you could probably whittle down that list to 4 or 5 teams. SB Nation has been conducting a weekly FanPulse Survey and this past week they asked this question. And as you can see Caleb Sturgis Jersey , with 54% of the vote, the answer is the Kansas City Chiefs, followed by the Oakland Raiders with 40%. The Denver Broncos and New England Patriots tied with 3%.I am somewhat surprised by these results. I would have that the Raiders would be tops on this list Cheap Melvin Ingram Jersey , with the inter-state matchup built in. Perhaps the vote can be chalked up to how the teams are currently playing; The Chiefs have dominated the Chargers recently whereas the Raiders have slumped these past few years and have lost 4 in a row to the Chargers.Same could be said about the Denver Broncos as they seem to not be as formidable since Peyton Manning retired. As much as we all could hope that the New England Patriots were a rival, the Chargers just don’t play them enough to really make the argument here. Anybody that knows me or has read my work here will know how bad I hate the Oakland Raiders. I remember going to the Black Hole in my Vincent Jackson jersey. The fans their in Oakland gave me a hard time, they made sure I knew how they felt about #83 that day. But it wasn’t any worse than when I attended a Chargers vs 49ers game in San Francisco. The worst case of Raiders smack I ever got was when I went to a Raiders vs Chargers game in San Diego. It was the worst expierence I've ever had at a football game. The tailgating was terrible Cheap Jahleel Addae Jersey , the in-game expierence was dreadful and the post game walk was ridciclous. I never hated another team more in more life. I just hate the Chiefs because they are so dang good. And they have the Chargers number. Hopefully that changes December 13th.(The poll only had the Cheifs, Raiders, Broncos and Patriots as choices) Although they’d likely trade them all away for a chance to be playing the Chiefs this Sunday Cheap Denzel Perryman Jersey , safeties Derwin James and Adrian Phillips continue to rack up accolades for their performances during the 2018 campaign.Earlier this week, James and Phillips were named to the Pro Football Writers of America’s (PFWA) All-AFC and All-NFL teams. The Chargers are also one of only six teams in the league to place multiple players on the All-NFL squad.James burst onto the scene as a rookie from Florida State and, while many agreed he was one of the most talented players in the entire draft Tyrell Williams Jersey , the versatile defender somehow found himself slipping in the draft. So much so that he made it all the way to #17 for the Chargers who couldn’t have been more elated to draft him. Number 33 finished his first yer as a pro by leading the team in tackles with 109 while chipping in 3.5 sacks and a trio of interceptions. To top it all off, James became the first Chargers rookie to record over 100+ tackles and the first to be named to the All-NFL squad. He joins the Colts’ Quenton Nelson and the Seahawks Michael Dickson as the only three rookies on the team.Phillips finished third on the team with 94 total tackles while pitching in an interception, forced fumble http://www.chargerscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-isaac-rochell-jersey , and fumble recovery. Ever since the special teams ace was named to the 2019 Pro Bowl, his play took a giant step forward. The increase in intensity was visual and his momentum only compounded once he was named a First-Team All-Pro at the special teams position. The former-Longhorn was a integral part of the team’s victory over the Ravens in the playoffs and will likely take on a much bigger role in the defense going forward into next season. Custom Chicago Bears Jerseys

While the score certainly isn’t very pretty, I don’t think things are quite as bleak as a 29-point loss might otherwise suggest. The truth is, the Chargers starters played pretty well on both sides of the ball. The offense, in particular, put together two solid drives against a talented and well-coached New Orleans defense – even if one ended when Rivers failed to connect with Mike Williams on a fourth-and-goal jump ball. Meanwhile, the first team defense intercepted Drew Brees and limited the Saints to a touchdown and two field goals in three red zone trips.Let’s take a look at some of the things that stood out to me – both good and bad – in Saturday’s loss to the Saints:When in doubt, run left: Mike Pouncey, Dan Feeney, and Russell Okung look like a major strength for this offense. Austin Ekeler ran the ball six times for 50 yards during the first two drives Youth Mike Williams Jersey , including four carries for 38 yards behind the left side of the line. Pouncey, Feeney, and Okung didn’t just control the line of scrimmage, they owned it, and Ken Whisenhunt wasn’t the least bit shy about leaning on them. This is going to be a fun group to watch during the regular season.Austin Ekeler – RB1?: With Melvin Gordon unavailable on Saturday, Austin Ekeler started the game and was the focal point of each of the Chargers’ first two drives. Ken Whisenhunt called Ekeler’s number nine times in the team’s first seventeen offensive plays and was rewarded with 63 total yards. While I’m half-kidding when I suggest Ekeler is RB1, his vision, burst, elusiveness, and hands out of the backfield might have him ready to take on a much larger role this year. He looked fantastic.A glimpse of things to come?: The Chargers’ first drive may have revealed a new, more aggressive attitude on the part of head coach Anthony Lynn. Faced with a fourth-and-goal from the Saints four-yard line, Lynn eschewed a chip-shot field goal in favor of a jump ball for Mike Williams. Granted, Williams didn’t get open and the Chargers failed to convert, but it’s pretty telling that Lynn opted to go for it on fourth down instead of kicking the ball with a somewhat murky kicking competition taking place in camp. It seems like a big vote of confidence for Mike Williams in what has been a preseason of baby steps for the former #7 overall pick.Detrez is the man: There is little doubt at this point that Detrez Newsome is the favorite to win the third-string running back job. While his stats on Saturday certainly weren’t eye-popping, he finished with 14 touches for 44 yards and an eight-yard touchdown run. Newsome strikes me as the ideal complement to Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler and, for the first time in years, the Chargers appear to have a dynamic and versatile three-man backfield. Detrez earned it.JJ just misses: The fact that Travis Benjamin and Desmond King served as the primary return men on Saturday probably suggests Jones won’t make the roster. JJ simply isn’t an NFL wide receiver and, even with his potential as a return specialist http://www.chargersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-drew-kaser-jersey , I the coaches likely can’t justify keeping seven receivers if the seventh man can’t at least break camp as the primary return specialist. That said, it wouldn’t surprise me if the team tries to protect him by including him on the initial 53-man roster with the intention of transferring him to the practice squad after the rest of the league has announced their practice squads. He could serve as a “placeholder” for an Antonio Gates signing, assuming the team ultimately brings him in.It’s Gates time: The Chargers played a third straight game in which their tight ends struggled to contribute as targets in the passing game. Sean Culkin caught his lone target for a seven-yard gain, but the group was otherwise invisible in the passing game. While I don’t think adding Antonio Gates changes much for this position group in terms of consistent playmaking ability, I do think his signing is probably inevitable. With that in mind, let’s get it done, already, so we can stop talking about it.Let Pooh Bear eat: Derwin James started his first game as a Charger and celebrated with an interception, a couple big hits, and a couple third down stops. Derwin showed a bit of everything you look for in a free safety when he intercepted Drew Brees on the third play of the game, including anticipation, range and electric ball skills. He’s arguably the best athlete on the team and possesses the best natural ball skills of any safety on the roster. He’s also the only safety on the roster capable of making that play. Stick James back there and good things will happen.White-out at WILL:Derwin James wasn’t the only rookie to start his first game as a Charger, as fourth-round pick Kyzir White got the nod at weakside linebacker (WILL). While he didn’t make any splash plays, White looked really good in man coverage, made a couple stops in the run game, and didn’t miss any tackles. I think he needs to work on how he reacts to play-action (a little too aggressive) and he seemed to be thinking a little out there, but it wasn’t bad for a rookie who missed the second preseason game.Brown on the bubble?: Jatavis Brown looked lost against the Saints. After making consecutive run stops to start the third quarter, Brown promptly missed his next seven tackle attempts Joe Barksdale Jersey , including an embarrassing whiff on Taysom Hill at the goal line. His reads were inconsistent, his angles were extremely poor and he was routinely beat to the edge. He looked even worse than Dwight Lowery did against the 49ers last preseason – right before he got cut. While I’m not totally convinced he’ll get cut, I think next week could ultimately decide Jatavis’ fate.Mager is in: It’s becoming pretty apparent that Craig Mager has the fifth cornerback spot on lockdown. He started the game opposite Michael Davis on the boundary, then played well into the third quarter while rotating inside to the slot. Mager went a third straight game without being targeted and I thought he played with solid technique and was generally in good position. Outside of eating a nasty stiff arm from Michael Thomas in the second quarter, Craig didn’t do anything to make me think he’s going to relinquish his hold on what figures to be the fifth and final spot on the depth chart.Chargers eliminate the dirty laundry: I thought the team executed more efficiently in all three phases of the game against the Saints and, most importantly, they more or less eliminated the mental and physical errors that led to 28 penalties over the first two preseason games. Granted, some of that is the direct result of getting the starters extended snaps, but the team definitely played its cleanest preseason game to date. In addition to avoiding major injuries, that’s the best possible outcome from the third preseason game.Well, those are my notes from the Chargers third preseason game. Overall, I thought the starters played pretty well on offense and defense, the majority of the camp battles have come to their conclusion, and the Bolts cleaned up the stupid mistakes they made through the first two preseason games. All in all, it was a pretty successful dress rehearsal for the starters. Don’t even get me started on the backups. Custom New York Giants Jerseys

TAMPA Authentic Wil Lutz Jersey , Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay’s bid to escape a deep hole and climb back into the race for a NFC playoff berth is all but over. The Buccaneers (5-8) weren’t eliminated by Sunday’s 28-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints, however the team is assured of finishing no better than .500 after sputtering offensively and wearing down defensively after holding a 14-3 halftime lead.Oh, and special teams contributed to the demise, too.Cairo Santos missed two field goals, one after Jason Pierre-Paul recovered Drew Brees‘ fumble deep in Saints territory and a blocked punt led to a touchdown that sparked New Orleans’ rally.“That was a momentum change. We had other chances, but that was definitely a big play,” coach Dirk Koetter said.“Our defense was on the field way too much in the second half. I think we had 16, almost 17 minutes of time of possession in the first half, and like 12 in the second half,” Koetter added. “That’s not going to work against the Saints.”It didn’t help, either, that Tampa Bay was penalized 10 times for 84 yards, including an unnecessary roughness penalty against center Ryan Jensen late in the second quarter that led to a heated verbal exchange with quarterback Jameis Winston. Both players said the dustup wasn’t a big deal.“Families fight. Me and Jameis are highly competitive guys and we just had simple words,” Jensen said. “We talked about it. We got cooled down and talked about it and everything is good.”Winston was 18 of 38 passing for 213 yards, two touchdowns and an interception on Tampa Bay’s final play. He was sacked four times and led the Bucs in rushing for the second straight week with 47 yards on five attempts.“Brothers have disagreements,” the quarterback said. “It wasn’t that much.”Koetter said he hadn’t talked about the situation with either player. The coach said Winston wasn’t as sharp as the previous two weeks in victories over San Francisco and Carolina.Koetter noted, however, that Winston did a good job of protecting the football. The problem was New Orleans defense was on its game after giving up a long TD drive to begin the game.“Jameis was under duress all day. Jameis got hit too many times. You can’t have your quarterback hit that many times whether it’s scrambling, running, four sacks,” Koetter said. “I mean, you can’t get hit that much.”In addition to outscoring the Bucs 25-0 in the second half, the Saints limited the NFL’s No. 1-ranked offense to 79 yards after halftime. Most of that yardage came on Tampa Bay’s last drive, which ended with an interception with 1 second left.“We have to finish better, execute better,” Winston said.“It wasn’t good enough in the second half. We’ve just got to take ownership of that Womens Cameron Jordan Jersey ,” tackle Demar Dotson said.“Going into the second half I thought that we had an opportunity to put a fork into them,” Dotson added, “but they got a boost of confidence from a missed field goal, a punt blocked.” The 2018 New Orleans Saints (13-2) have lived a charmed life: after losing their first game of the season, the Saints rattled off 10 wins in a row. Following a 13-10 stumble in Dallas, the Saints then proceeded to win two divisional games in a row (Tampa Bay, Carolina), giving themselves a clear route to the number one seed in the NFC. The Saints needed only one win this afternoon against the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-6-1) in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to secure that all-important first round bye in the playoffs. Here is how the game unfolded:1st HALF*1st QuarterThe Steelers win the toss and take the ball to open the game. After gaining a first down with a 15-yard pass on the first play of the game to JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Steelers stall and punt.Following a touchback, the Saints start their first possession of the game at their own 20-yard line. Saints open the game with two straight runs by Mark Ingram to gain a first down. On the third play of the drive, right tackle Ryan Ramczyk hurt his ankle. For the Saints, the injuries on the offensive line continue to rotate. After yet another first down, Taysom Hill throws deep to the end zone and is picked off, the Steelers return the ball to their 40-yard line. Sean Payton getting extra cute again, and it comes back to burn him.The Steelers eventually stall at the Saints’ 31-yard line and Chris Boswell converts a 49-yard field goal to give the Steelers a 3-0 lead.On their second possession of the game, the Saints’ start at their 25-yard line. Saints get into Steelers’ territory on a 28-yard pass to Michael Thomas. On 4th-and-1 from the Steelers’ 34-yard line, the Saints go for it. Brees launches a pass to Alvin Kamara in the end zone and a pass interference is called on Joe Haden. The Saints’ get the ball at the one-yard line and Mark Ingram rumbles into the end zone. After the PAT, the Saints lead the Steelers 7-3. With that touchdown, Mark Ingram passed Deuce McAllister for the most rushing touchdowns in Saints’ history.Steelers take over at their 10-yard line and move the ball up near midfield and Ben Roethlisberger finds his tight end Vance McDonald inside the Saints’ red zone for 49 yards as the first quarter ends.*2nd QuarterSteelers start the quarter at the Saints’ 13-yard line and on third-and-9 from the 12-yard line, Roethlisberger throws and incompletion and Chris Boswell makes a 30-yard field goal, narrowing the Saints’ lead to 7-6.Saints take over at their own 25-yard line after the kickoff. Since 2017 Womens Max Unger Jersey , the NFL has embraced player celebrations, ending decades of No Fun League attitude and turning it into a marketing ploy. But there’s still a glitch or two that the league needs to iron out.The biggest comes in the shape of a large red kettle that the Cowboys put in their end zone every Thanksgiving, leaving it there through the end of the regular season to promote the efforts of the Salvation Army to raise money for the less fortunate. Though the kettle is clearly part of the field, the NFL has fined Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott for depositing $21 into the kettle following a touchdown, and for later depositing quarterback Dak Prescott into it. (Prescott got a warning letter for his involvement in the stunt.)Contrast that with 2016, when Elliott jumped into the kettle but didn’t receive a fine — even though the league had yet to change the rules to promote celebrations.Technically Authentic DeMario Davis Jersey , yes, the use of the kettle as a prop violates the language of the rulebook, since only the ball can be used as a prop when celebrating. So why not change the rule?More importantly, what’s the reason for not changing the rule? There’s nothing about putting cash or teammates in the kettle that creates animosity between teams or otherwise sends a message that the league shouldn’t want to send. Instead, it promotes giving to the cause the Cowboys embraced years ago, with the kettle now in its 21st year of on-field use.Hell Authentic Drew Brees Jersey , why not put a kettle in every end zone at every stadium, space permitting? If the NFL wants a free and easy way to be a responsible corporate citizen, the active incorporation of the Salvation Army kettle into touchdown celebrations at every NFL venue would do the trick. At a minimum, let players who play in Dallas have some fun with the kettle, including the players from the visiting team.聽Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore produced $23 from his pants last Thursday and dropped it into the kettle. Hopefully, he won’t be fined for it. Plenty of scoring and close games are good for business in the NFL.Teams are scoring at a record pace. The number of points (4 http://www.neworleanssaintsteamonline.com/vonn-bell-jersey ,489), touchdowns (504) and touchdown passes (328) are the most in league history through six weeks. And, games are coming down to the end.Sixty-nine percent of all games (64 of 93) have been within one score in the fourth quarter. A total of 54 games have been decided by one score 鈥?eight points or less. That's tied for the most in league history at this point. There have been 28 games decided by three points or fewer, second-most at this point. At least one game has reached overtime the first six weeks for the first time since extra time was instituted in 1974."I don't think there has been a better time to be an NFL fan," Commissioner Roger Goodell said Wednesday. "The quality of the games and the enjoyment that comes with that, I hear it from the fans all the time 鈥?that is No. 1 for them. From our standpoint http://www.neworleanssaintsteamonline.com/tyeler-davison-jersey , we look at this as a great moment for us, the tremendous growth and the tremendous popularity of our game."One of the key factors contributing to the scoring output is the emphasis on calling defensive holding penalties. The total is up to 36 from 11 through six weeks last season. The increase in roughing-the-passer penalties and eliminating use of the helmet to initiate hits are also important factors.League officials also point to an influx of talented young quarterbacks. However, scoring could taper off once defenses make adjustments and weather could affect games later in the season. Here's a look inside more numbers going into Week 7:MORE THIELEN: Vikings receiver Adam Thielen has at least 100 yards receiving in each of Minnesota's first six games this season. Only Charley Hennigan had more with seven in 1961 for Houston. Thielen's 58 catches lead the NFL and he's on pace for 155 receptions.BREEZING UP: Drew Brees broke Peyton Manning's career record for yards passing last week and now is one TD pass away from joining Manning (539), Brett Favre (508) and Tom Brady (501) in the 500 TD club. The Saints visit the Ravens on Sunday.CHASING LT: Rams running back Todd Gurley has 11 TDs rushing and receiving. He's on pace for 29. Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson set the record with 31 in 2006 for the Chargers.THE KICKING GOAT: Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri is 10 points away from breaking Morten Anderson's scoring record. Anderson had 2,544 points on 565 field goals and 849 extra points. Vinatieri has 2,535 points and already broke Anderson's record for most field goals. He's at 570 and counting.PAT'S STATS: Patrick Mahomes has 18 TD passes in his first seven career games. Only Kurt Warner (21) and Deshaun Watson (20) had more through eight.BIG PLAY TY: Mahomes' teammate on the Chiefs Authentic Patrick Robinson Jersey , wide receiver Tyreek Hill, already has 14 career TDs of 50 yards or more. Only Gale Sayers (16) and Randy Moss (15) had more before age 25. Custom New Orleans Saints Jerseys

If you live in the United State Authentic Elandon Roberts Jersey , you probably noticed that midterm elections took place yesterday (you probably also noticed if you live abroad). While Pats Pulpit is no political outlet, we do cover developments regarding the New England Patriots and one such happened yesterday when former Patriot Anthony Gonzalez won his election to represent Ohio’s 16th congressional district in the House of Representatives.Gonzalez, who originally entered the NFL as a first-round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2007, came to New England as a free agent in March 2012. However, he never actually appeared in a game for the team as he was released by the Patriots just two months after joining them. The Ohio State product subsequently decided to end his career in professional football and instead earn his MBA at Stanford. In September 2017, Gonzalez announced his bid trying to fill a vacant House seat in his home state. With the help of donations from former Colts teammates Peyton Manning and Austin Collie — he himself also a short-time member of the Patriots —, the 34-year old was able to win the Republican nomination. Yesterday, Gonzalez defeated his Democratic opponent with a rather convincing 56.8%.Gonzalez is not the first ex-Patriot player to go into politics after his retirement. Former New England safety James Mildren, who was with the team in 1974 Authentic Trent Brown Jersey Salute to Service , served as Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma from 1991 to 1995 representing the Democratic Party. On the other end of the political spectrum, Ex-Patriots running back Craig James (1984-1988) unsuccessfully tried to become the Republican nominee for a vacant Senate seat in 2012.Ex-Patriots defender Rob Ninkovich thinks that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is “just a bigger receiver” that “doesn’t want to block” The upcoming game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs offers plenty of intrigue. One of the most talked about battles is one that does not even take place simultaneously: the one between tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce. The two Pro Bowlers are arguably the two best players in the NFL at their position – but there is little doubt about who is number one, at least when you ask Rob Ninkovich. The former Patriots defender, who retired last offseason, recently joined XTRA 1360 in San Diego to talk about Gronkowski and Kelce. For Ninkovich, however, it isn’t much of a debate about who is the better tight end between the two: “I would take Gronk,” the two-time world champion told hosts Nick Hardwick and Judson Richards. “I’ve played against Kelce, and I’ve thrown him around like he’s a little doll.”Ninkovich continued criticizing Kelce’s abilities as a blocker: “The guy doesn’t want to block. When you’re a tight end and you don’t want to block Adrian Clayborn Jersey Salute to Service , you’re not really a tight end.” But despite the alleged deficiencies when it comes to blocking – and those allegations have some merit –, Kelce has been a productive player. Last regular season alone, he caught 83 passes for 1,038 and eight touchdowns.Catching passes is only one part of a tight end’s profile, though, as Ninkovich pointed out during his radio appearance. “I would take Rob based on the fact that he can block,” the ex-linebacker said. “You see him running wham blocks, and you see him running all the different types of route combinations, plus motioning in to crack people. He’s willing and able to do a lot of things that a true tight end does well Kenny Britt Jersey Salute to Service , and he does it exceptionally well.”Ninkovich continued by calling Gronkowski the best tight end to ever play the game – and his blocking abilities were a big reason for the defender feeling this way. Kelce, meanwhile, was labeled differently. “Kelce is just a bigger receiver. That guy doesn’t want to block,” Ninkovich said before adding that despite not playing in over a year, he still felt as if he could easily beat the Chiefs’ tight end in a run block situation right now.But no matter Kelce’s blocking abilities or the name of his position, one thing still remains unchanged: he is a dangerous player in the passing game, and one Kansas City knows how to use. The Patriots defense will need to find a way to slow him down on Sunday – no matter if he is treated as a tight end or a wide receiver.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Don Yee Limited Duron Harmon Jersey , the agent for Tom Brady and other NFL stars, and three-time Super Bowl champion Ed McCaffrey will head Pacific Pro Football, a league that will provide an alternative path to the NFL that has never existed.Pacific Pro Football announced Monday that it is scheduled to begin play in July 2020 with four teams in Southern California. It will allow players to play professionally directly out of high school, with the average salary and benefits totaling $50,000 for a two-month season.Yee said the NFL is the only major sport in the world that doesn’t have any kind of developmental system. The widening divergence between styles of play in college and the NFL means some college players aren’t necessarily being trained for the pro game, he added.Pacific Pro Football will be similar to the NBA’s G League. McCaffrey will be commissioner and former NFL Network vice president Jamie Hemann will be CEO.“There is a growing realization and concern, actually, in the NFL, all the way from ownership on down, that the growing divergence between the college product and the NFL product is a problem Lawrence Guy Jersey ,” Yee said in a phone interview Monday. “There also is a realization that is somewhat anomalous, that the NFL product doesn’t have any kind of hand in any kind of developmental system.”He pointed to Sunday’s AFC wild-card game in which the Los Angeles Chargers beat Baltimore 23-17 by frustrating and harassing Ravens rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson. With the former Louisville star leading the way, the Ravens went on a tear late in the regular season by combining a time-consuming ground game with the league’s top-ranked defense. The Ravens beat the Chargers 22-10 on Dec. 22, but Los Angeles quickly figured out a way to bottle up Jackson in the rematch.“There are fantastic athletes like Lamar Jackson, who excelled in college in a particular system, but once he reaches a different style of game and play, you can see it’s going to take a little while to properly train him playing a different style,” Yee said. “What we hope to do is accelerate that learning curve.”Yee said concern about the divergent styles between college and the NFL is shared by some college players and their parents, and that playing at a four-year college isn’t necessarily the best or only path to the NFL.“It should be OK for a young man to simply want to be a good football player, no different than if a young man or woman simply wanted to be a good engineer Authentic David Andrews Jersey Salute to Service ,” Yee said. “Any kind of ambition is honorable.”Yee said he anticipates that in the first year, most of the league’s players will have already played some college football. He added that there are high school players who are good enough to play three years with Pacific Pro Football and then make the jump to the NFL.“We view it as, this league will be the best of the best, and what I mean is we will not make an employment offer to any player unless we strongly believe that player has a professional football future,” he said. The projected annual average salary and benefits will be $50,000, and the league will negotiate separately with every player depending on perceived market value, Yee said. He said he couldn’t yet identify the league’s investors.Once a player becomes eligible to apply for the NFL draft, he will term out of Pacific Pro Football, Yee said. Players are eligible for the NFL three years removed from their high school graduating class. The league will play in July and August. Plans call for teams in San Diego Limited Steve Grogan Jersey , Orange and Los Angeles counties, with games played at community colleges.Yee said the league will offer one year of free junior college tuition to each player, and teams will have counselors to offer advice on post-playing careers. Most of the league’s players in the first year will have already played some college football, Yee said.Besides Brady, Yee also represents Julian Edelman, Jimmy Garoppolo and Saints coach Sean Payton.McCaffrey recently stepped down as the head coach at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He won a Super Bowl championship with San Francisco in 1994 and two more with Denver in 1997 and 1998. Of his four sons, Max is a wide receiver with the 49ers, Christian is a running back and return specialist for the Carolina Panthers and Dylan is a quarterback at Michigan.“Our league will be fun for players and fans, and fans will see the best of the next generation of stars Trey Flowers Jersey ,” McCaffrey said in a statement.FOX Fantasy AutoForm a Racing Team, Compete for PrizesPlay Now! The Atlanta Braves Trent Brown Color Rush Jersey , tied for the best record in the National League, return home from their brief two-game road trip to host the Baltimore Orioles, the team with the worst record in baseball.

The three-game interleague series begins on Friday at SunTrust Park.

Baltimore will start right-hander Alex Cobb (2-9, 7.14) against Atlanta left-hander Sean Newcomb (8-2, 2.70) in the series opener.

The Braves (43-30) split two games at Toronto and return home having won seven of their last 10 games. Atlanta has a three-game lead over Washington in the National League East.

The Orioles (21-52) have lost eight of their last 10 games. They dropped two of three games at Washington, although all of the games were within three runs.

Newcomb has made enjoyed a breakthrough season in his second year in the majors. Newcomb has posted two scoreless starts over his last three appearances, most recently on June 16 against San Diego. He struck out seven and allowed two hits in that six-inning start, which he won. That was a bounce-back for the southpaw, who had allowed five runs in 5 1/3 innings against Los Angeles in his previous start.

“After you have a good one, you’ve got to be able to clear it and look forward to the next one,” Newcomb said. “You’ve got to treat each start as kind of a new thing, whether you had a good one or a bad one. That allows you to go out fresh every time.”

Newcomb leads the team in wins and has allowed two or fewer runs in ten of his 14 starts. He has never faced the Orioles.

“It’s good to see that maturity and confidence in him now,” Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said. “There’s no panic. I love how he stays pitch-to-pitch during a game. It’s just a young pitcher who is confident in what he’s doing and has faith in himself.”

Cobb has made five quality starts in 12 previous outings but has not pitched well in his last two starts, both losses. He allowed five runs in seven innings against Miami on June 16 and was rocked for nine runs in 3 2/3 innings against Toronto in June 10.

“Being out there and feeling comfortable is such a thing you take for granted,” Cobb said. “I’m just really comfortable where I’m at. I’m able to execute a high amount of pitches. That’s going to lead to some success.”

He has one career start against the Braves in 2012. He allowed two runs in seven innings and struck out six in earning the victory.

With the series in Atlanta Youth Royce Freeman Jersey , Baltimore will not be able to use a designated hitter. That may be OK with Mark Trumbo, who is hitting .349 (15-for-43) in 13 games playing in the field, compared to hitting .233 in 27 games as the DH.

Atlanta first baseman Freddie Freeman has been among the league leaders all season. He leads the National League total bases (162) and is second in on-base percentage (.420) and slugging percentage (.579). His 93 hits are tied with teammate Nick Markakis for the league lead. His .332 batting average is second only to Scooter Gennett’s .336 mark.

The Orioles are expected to get slugger Chris Davis back in the lineup on Friday. He has missed eight games while making offensive adjustments after hitting .150 with 86 strikeouts in 57 games.

“I’m really looking forward to getting him back on the field,” Baltimore manager Buck Showalter said. “I’m really looking forward to getting the impactful player he’s capable of being.”

SAN FRANCISCO — One hot pitcher and one who hopes he’s heating up go head-to-head Wednesday night when the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants continue their three-game series.

The Giants outlasted the Rockies in a pitchers’ duel in the opener Tuesday night, with a bases-loaded walk plating the winning run in the eighth, one inning after starters Derek Holland and Chad Bettis had exited a 1-1 game.

San Francisco, seeking a fourth straight win, will send Madison Bumgarner (1-2, 3.20 ERA) to the mound Wednesday.

The four-time All-Star recorded his first win of the season in his last start, rewarded for pitching eight shutout innings against the San Diego Padres on Thursday.

Bumgarner has made 26 career starts against the Rockies, going 12-7 with a 3.05 ERA.

He will be seeking to continue a stretch of brilliant pitching by the Giants, who have given up three or fewer runs in nine of their last 12 games.

The starting staff has performed so well, Giants manager Bruce Bochy admitted he’s not sure what the team’s going to do when injured rotation regulars Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija are deemed healthy enough to return.

That day is expected soon, especially with Samardzija, who has already made three injury-rehab appearances in the minors.

“I think you look at the way the rotation has been throwing the ball Youth J'Mon Moore Jersey , it’s not going to be easy,” Bochy said of who, if anybody, gets displaced. “But we knew this would be coming when Jeff’s ready and Johnny’s ready.”

A matchup with the Rockies means Bumgarner will have to deal with hot-hitting Nolan Arenado, but it’s been Carlos Gonzalez who has given the Giants’ lefty the most trouble over the years.

Gonzalez has five career homers against Bumgarner, the most anybody’s hit against the San Francisco ace.

Arenado has two career homers against Bumgarner.

The Giants not only will have to deal with Gonzalez and Arenado, but also with impressive Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland (7-6, 3.55), who already has beaten San Francisco twice this season.

Facing the Giants twice in a 12-day stretch in May, Freeland allowed them four runs and 13 hits in 12 innings in 6-1 and 11-4 wins.

The 25-year-old has gone 2-1 in June after a 4-1 May that included the two wins over the Giants.

Freeland has started six times in his career against the Giants, going 4-2 with a 3.15 ERA.

He’s 1-1 with a 3.55 ERA in two career starts in San Francisco.

Freeland can expect to see Hunter Pence in the Giants’ lineup Wednesday.

Pence has been relegated to part-time duties when not injured this season, but has come through big-time in his last two starts and has a history against Freeland.

Pence collected two hits and two RBIs in a 6-5 win over Miami last Wednesday, then had a double and two more RBIs in a 3-2 victory over the San Diego Padres on Sunday.

Pence has faced Freeland eight times in his career, going 4-for-7 with a walk.

The Turner family could be growing within the Carolina Panthers organization.

The team is interviewing Norv Turner for its vacant offensive coordinator position Mike Remmers Color Rush Jersey , said a person familiar with the situation. The person spoke to The Associated Press Thursday on condition of anonymity because the team does not discuss potential coaching candidates.

The Panthers fired offensive coordinator Mike Shula and quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey Tuesday, two days after a playoff loss to the Saints.

If the 65-year-old Turner is hired, he’s expected to bring in his son Scott as quarterbacks coach. Scott Turner is an offensive analyst at the University of Michigan and previously worked for the Panthers as an offensive quality control coordinator from 2011-12.

It would also be quite a family reunion if both are hired.

Norv Turner’s brother, Ron, is an offensive consultant for the Panthers and his nephew Cameron is the team’s assistant quarterbacks coach.

After initially giving Shula a vote of confidence on Monday, Panthers coach Ron Rivera fired him a day later saying that the team’s offense needed a ”different perspective” and ”different ideas” going forward.

Carolina was 11-5 this season and finished 19th in total offense under Shula, but again struggled moving the ball through the air finishing 28th in the league. Quarterback Cam Newton turned in his worst two quarterback ratings of his career in the last two seasons.

Norv Turner began working in the NFL in 1985 as a wide receivers coach for the Los Angeles Rams and later won two Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys as an offensive coordinator in the early 1990s.

Turner has worked as the head coach of the Washington Redskins (1994-2000), Oakland Raiders (2004-05) and San Diego Chargers (2007-12) and was a combined 114-122-1 with five playoff appearances but no Super Bowl appearances. While in San Diego, Turner employed Rivera as his defensive coordinator before the Panthers hired him as head coach in 2011.

Turner last worked in the NFL from 2014-16 as the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings.

Former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Torry Holt praised Turner on Twitter, tweeting ”get ready for Bang 8’s, Deep Digs, Power Run game, and a ton of shifts on offense. His style will challenge his players. Outstanding offensive MIND.”

Neither Jesus Aguilar nor Bud Norris wanted to let their team down.

Aguilar succeeded twice.

Aguilar homered to break up rookie Jack Flaherty’s no-hit bid in the seventh inning, then homered again in the ninth to lift the Milwaukee Brewers over the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 on Friday night.

Both teams got just three hits. The benches and bullpens briefly cleared in the eighth after Eric Sogard slid into St. Louis shortstop Yairo Munoz, who caught a wide throw on a bunt play in the eighth.

Norris (3-2) started the ninth for the Cardinals by striking out Travis Shaw. But, Aguilar followed with an opposite-field drive to right for his 16th home run.

”Don’t get a strikeout. Don’t get a strikeout Danny Shelton Color Rush Jersey ,” Aguilar said about digging in against Norris. ”That’s why I was kind of overaggressive, I think. I got lucky to hit that pitch.”

Norris, speaking in front of his locker in the subdued Cardinals clubhouse, owned up to the mistake.

”I yanked one pitch, and he hit it,” Norris said. ”That’s the game.”

It was another tough loss for the Cardinals, who have lost nine of the last 12.

”Watching them walk us off, that’s hard,” Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. ”Jack did everything he could possibly do.”

Corey Knebel (1-0) pitched the ninth for the NL Central leaders.

With one out in the seventh, Aguilar drove an 83 mph slider from Flaherty into the Brewers’ bullpen in left, where reliever Jeremy Jeffress caught the ball on the fly. A woman who was knitting – it appeared to be crochet, actually – in the front row behind home plate barely flinched as Aguilar connected.

”He got that ball almost off the ground,” catcher Yadier Molina said. ”We’ve got to give him some credit.”

Aguilar tipped his cap to Flaherty.

”He was dominating the strike zone tonight, and I think we got lucky,” he said. ”We tied the game in the moment. It’s a new game, and we’re moving forward Jason McCourty Color Rush Jersey , thinking we’re going to win this game.”

Flaherty matched a career high by striking out 13 in seven innings, allowing just one hit. The Cardinals played stellar defense behind him after giving up six unearned runs with a season-high four errors in Thursday’s 11-3 loss to Milwaukee. Munoz robbed Jonathan Villar of a base hit in the fifth with a nice running backhand stab of a liner tailing away from him.

”That was unbelievable,” Molina said of Flaherty’s performance. ”Good pitching, good effort. Everything was working for him. We didn’t hit enough to get him the win tonight.”

Matt Carpenter walked, advanced on a sacrifice by Harrison Bader and scored on Marcell Ozuna’s liner up the middle in the third.

Brewers starter Junior Guerra allowed one run and three hits with four walks and seven strikeouts in five-plus innings.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Cardinals: INF Paul DeJong (left hand fracture) took batting practice and is anxious to return. ”It looked like he didn’t miss a beat, but we’re going to have to slow down and make sure we’re following the program,” manager Mike Matheny said.

Brewers: LF Ryan Braun missed his second consecutive game after receiving a cryotherapy injection in his troublesome right thumb Wednesday in Los Angeles. … LHP Wade Miley (right oblique strain) made a rehab start for Double-A Biloxi. He went two innings and allowed a run on three hits and struck out three.

QUOTABLE

Each team struck out 15 times and each one seemed to bring consternation with plate umpire Tim Timmons.

”When the pitchers keep putting the balls on the corners, there’s going to be some disagreements,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. ”There were a lot of balls put on corners tonight.”

YOU’RE GONE

Tommy Pham, batting second, was ejected by Timmons after Pham took a called third strike in the first. He continued to bark about it from the dugout before being tossed for the first time in his career. Bader replaced Pham in center field.

UP NEXT

Cardinals: RHP Miles Mikolas (7-2, 2.69 ERA) makes his third start against the Brewers this season. He won 8-4 in his Cardinals debut on April 2.

Brewers: RHP Chase Anderson (5-6, 4.54 ERA) makes his second start this season against the Cardinals. He is 2-2 with a 3.19 ERA in 10 career outings, including a no-decision April 3 at Miller Park.

The adjustments have come both ways and Pittsburgh Pirates rookie outfielder Austin Meadows is doing better at them than opposing pitchers.

Through the first three games of a series against Arizona that concludes Sunday at PNC Park Youth Leighton Vander Esch Jersey , Meadows has gotten the better of Diamondbacks pitching. Despite going 0-for-4 Saturday, he’s 5-for-13 in the series with a run, a walk and a stolen base.

In fact, Meadows told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that pitchers are only adjusting to him “a little bit” after his early success.

“They’re throwing a little more of their off-speed early in the count for strikes,” he said. “For me, it’s just going out there and having the same mentality I did when I got here. Having that fastball-first mentality and adjusting to certain things and staying in my zone and not swinging at their pitches.”

Meadows, 23, a 2013 first-round draft pick who is healthy after injury setbacks, started on fire after his call-up from Triple-A Indianapolis on May 18, but going from .409 to .330 is probably just leveling off to something closer to what he can maintain.

He has made 25 starts — he batted leadoff Saturday in a 7-2 Pirates loss — divided among all three outfield spots. He has hits in 20 of the 25 starts, including 12 of the past 14, with six doubles, two triples Youth Preston Brown Jersey , five homers, 11 RBIs, 14 runs and five stolen bases.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle expects that opposing teams will use whatever resources they have to try to shift the advantage to the pitchers.

“We’ve seen a punch-back already,” said Hurdle, who doesn’t sound as if he expects opponents to fully solve Meadows any time soon.

“If you’re not impressed by Meadows’ at-bats, you need to go watch another sport right now,” he said.

Pittsburgh (36-40) has lost four straight and five of six. Arizona (43-33) has won three in a row, five of six, and will go for a four-game series sweep Sunday.

Arizona right-hander Clay Buchholz (1-1, 2.94 ERA) is scheduled to face Pirates right-hander Trevor Williams (6-4, 4.00).

Buchholz has three no-decisions in a row. His most recent start last Sunday was one of the Diamondbacks’ most frustrating losses.

He allowed one earned run in 5 2/3 innings and Arizona went into the ninth inning with a 3-1 lead before the New York Mets came back against closer Brad Boxberger to win 5-3.

“We got some very solid pitching, and Buccholz handed it off to the bullpen,” manager Torey Lovullo said.

Buchholz was subdued but “felt pretty good for the most part.”

Buchholz has been strong on the road with no wins to show for it — 0-1 with a 2.12 ERA and a .180 average against in three starts.

He is 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA in two career starts against the Pirates.

Williams is coming off a gem. He pitched seven one-hit Youth Antonio Callaway Jersey , scoreless innings and struck out seven Monday in a 1-0 win over Milwaukee. It was his first win since May 15.

Against the Diamondbacks, Williams is 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA in three career starts. That includes a 13-8 road loss on June 12 when he gave up six runs (one earned) in the first inning and two in the third.

One of the biggest mysteries in Super Bowl history occurred the previous time the Philadelphia Eagles met the New England Patriots 13 years ago.

Did Donovan McNabb vomit during Philadelphia’s comeback attempt in the fourth quarter?

He denies it. Teammates have said otherwise.

It’s worthy of a documentary. No puking, er, kidding.

The rematch is here and the Eagles are still seeking their first Vince Lombardi Trophy while the Patriots have won two more since that one and are going for No. 6.

McNabb’s disputed upchucking actually upstaged Terrell Owens’ remarkable performance in the big game. Owens defied his doctor’s advice and was in the starting lineup just 6+ weeks after ankle surgery. He caught nine passes for 122 yards against the Patriots, but the Eagles couldn’t overcome numerous mistakes in a 24-21 loss.

McNabb threw for 357 yards and three touchdowns but also had three interceptions, another that was nullified by penalty, took four sacks and didn’t have any yards rushing.

Former Eagles coach Andy Reid’s clock management was a major issue in that game. Down 24-14, the offense got the ball back with 8:35 left. They inexplicably huddled up instead of running a hurry-up offense and McNabb threw an interception.

They were slow to the line again when they regained possession and took 3:45 to drive 79 yards for a touchdown. After the onside kick failed, the defense held and the Eagles got the ball again at their 4 with no timeouts and 46 seconds remaining.

The comeback bid ended when Rodney Harrison picked a deflected pass.

”When you talk about managing time and things of that nature, that’s up to the head coach, offensive coordinator and the quarterback,” Owens told The Associated Press this week.

”As a quarterback, as a seasoned veteran Youth Dorance Armstrong Jr. Jersey , the quarterback really should be the guy assessing what we should be doing, how much time is on the clock, what time we need to be running the play. I was on the outside once I left the huddle. Once the play is called, I’m gone.”

Owens, in town as a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame and to promote a commercial for Febreze, has moved on from the loss. He was dismissed from the Eagles in November the following season after feuding with McNabb and management over a new contract.

”What I did was bigger than the Super Bowl for me,” Owens said. ”I understood the ultimate goal was to win the game and that was definitely heavily on my mind. Coming out of the tunnel for the first time, the media was waiting on me to run around the field to see if I was limping, how I was cutting on the ankle. I wanted everyone to know my faith in God was the No. 1 reason I did what I did.”

Former teammate Brian Westbrook, who had 144 yards from scrimmage and a TD catch in that game, still has regrets.

”I don’t think you ever get over losing the Super Bowl,” Westbrook said. ”It’s one of those things when you look back on your career, you want to have that ring Marquez Valdes-Scantling Color Rush Jersey , you want to flash the Giants fans, the Dallas fans that ring but sometimes things don’t work out.

”But the biggest memory is playing in the game, being part of the big show. You work so hard to get to that point in your career and I was lucky enough to get there. We just didn’t seal the deal.”

Westbrook defended McNabb, who took several hard hits, including a few that appeared late. McNabb was bent over after a crushing hit from Richard Seymour during the late drive and it’s unknown whether he was getting dirt and grass off his face and helmet or regurgitated.

”The quarterback is always going to get so much of the credit and so much of the bad things,” Westbrook said. ”That negativity, a lot of it is centered around Don for whatever reason but he was the reason we were playing in that game.

”He did a great job. I wish, as a team, we could’ve put him in better position to be successful. When you’re playing the Patriots and make those kinds of mistakes, you don’t have a chance.”

That remains true now. It’s a different team, but Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are still there.

For the first time in more than a month Jamaal Williams Jersey , there was music playing in the Baltimore Orioles‘ clubhouse following a game.

The team still faces an uphill battle to turn the season around, but it was admittedly just nice to get a win.

Jace Peterson and Mark Trumbo homered and the Orioles snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 10-4 victory over the Miami Marlins on Sunday.

Baltimore also ended a string of 11 straight losses at home, which tied a club record. The Orioles last win at Camden Yards came May 13 against Tampa Bay.

”We’re doing what we can, constantly trying to get better,” Trumbo said. ”It doesn’t always show up, but that has to be the goal going forward. It’s going to be a long road for the team, but you want to see improvement in some areas. I think if you can target those and actually do it, we’ll be that much better because of that.”

Dylan Bundy (5-7) allowed four runs and five hits with five strikeouts and two walks over six innings. He has accounted for one-quarter of his team’s victories this season.

Peterson got his first homer of the season with a two-run shot off reliever Merandy Gonzalez in the fifth and matched a career-high with four RBIs. Trumbo went 3 for 5 with a home run off Gonzalez in the seventh.

Miami was 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position.

Justin Bour had a pair of homers Authentic Su'a Cravens Jersey , including a three-run shot that pulled the Marlins to within 8-4 in the sixth.

”The last couple of days the team has done a good job of picking me up,” Bour said. ”It was nice to contribute today.”

Baltimore entered the game as the lowest-scoring team in the American League, but knocked around Miami rookie Trevor Richards (1-4). Fellow rookie Corban Joseph was the only Baltimore starter not to manage a hit off him.

Trumbo led off the second with a single and Jonathan Schoop followed with a double. Peterson cleared the bases with another double that bounced over the center field fence.

Trumbo hit another towering RBI double before Mancini followed with a single that boosted the lead to 4-0 in the third. Mancini had been 4 for 50 with runners in scoring position entering that at-bat.

”This is the first time he’s gone through something like this,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. ”You’re trying to be real supportive with not only him, but everybody. We’re going to keep trying to create some positive vibes.”

Bour led off the fourth with a homer to left, snapping a streak 211/3 scoreless innings by Bundy.

”Once we get behind, Bour gets us one back and then gets us three more,” Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. ”We never really get where we needed to be.”

Baltimore responded in the bottom half on a double by Adam Jones that drove in two more runs and ended the day for Richards Authentic Courtland Sutton Jersey , who was charged with a season-high six runs and nine hits.

Manny Machado had two hits, including an RBI single in the eighth that rounded out the scoring for Baltimore.

FISHING

Trumbo has hit safely in 11 of 12 games against the Marlins, batting .370 (17 for 46) over that stretch.

MOVE

The Orioles optioned catcher Chance Cisco to Triple-A Norfolk following the game.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Marlins: INF Miguel Rojas was held out of the lineup for the second consecutive game after being hit on the left hand by a pitch Friday.

Orioles: RHP Andrew Cashner (back) did not have any setbacks with his bullpen session and will start Wednesday in Washington. He is 2-8 with a 4.98 ERA in 13 starts.

UP NEXT

Marlins: Left-hander Caleb Smith (5-6, 3.75 ERA) will make his second consecutive start against the Giants. On June 13, he allowed three runs and eight hits over 6 1/3 innings and did not get a decision in the Marlins’ 5-4 victory.

Orioles: Rookie David Hess (2-3, 4.13 ERA) will start the opener Tuesday against the Nationals, who handed him a 2-0 loss May 30.

The head of one of the nation’s largest fish conservation groups says Fiat Chrysler’s Super Bowl ads ”glorified” the destruction of aquatic habitat in an apparent attempt to appeal to off-road thrill-seekers.

It’s the second time ads by the automaker have drawn complaints since the Feb. 4 game.

Trout Unlimited President and CEO Chris Wood said Wednesday that one ad gave the impression a Jeep Cherokee was splashing down the middle of a wild streambed.

Article continues below ...

Fiat Chrysler is defending the ads but says there are no plans to run them again. It says the spot with the Cherokee was shot on a flooded county road and another with a Jeep Wrangler was filmed in a man-made lake with a man-made waterfall on private land.

Wood said many of his group’s 300,000 members and supporters own Jeeps Authentic Isaac Yiadom Jersey , but the images were upsetting.

”Fish are tough and resilient critters, but they don’t do well with several-thousand-pound vehicles driving over their spawning grounds, tearing up the gravel where they lay eggs,” he said. ”Why someone would want to put out the idea that you should buy a Jeep so you could drive it up a creek is incomprehensible to me.”

The Reno Gazette-Journal first reported the ad flap last week. Pam Harrington, Trout Unlimited’s Nevada field coordinator, told the newspaper she was upset because she’s worked with ATV clubs in Idaho repairing damage caused by irresponsible drivers.

Stream habitat improvements are part of the decadeslong efforts to protect endangered salmon in the Pacific Northwest, where research shows riverbank disturbances and sedimentation chokes off fish eggs.

Wood said he didn’t learn until this week that much of his membership was upset over the Jeep ads. He said he had already written a personal letter of complaint Feb. 6 to Fiat Chrysler CEO and Chairman Sergio Marchionne after Wood’s son noticed the ad during the game.

The automaker also came under fire last week for another Super Bowl ad featuring a Ram pickup set against audio of ”The Drum Major Instinct” sermon delivered by Martin Luther King Jr. 50 years ago.

The 60-second spot included images of the truck with people helping others and hugging loved ones. Critics said it omitted King’s words in the same speech guarding against advertisers exploiting consumers, including when the civil rights icon said Youth Minkah Fitzpatrick Jersey , ”In order to make your neighbors envious you must drive this type of car. … And you know, before you know it, you’re just buying that stuff. That’s the way advertisers do it.”

A company spokeswoman said that ad ”was selling the message of serving in your community.”

Wood, who worked as chief spokesman for the U.S. Forest Service under the Clinton administration before joining Trout Unlimited in 2001, said Fiat Chrysler apparently ”got some bad marketing advice” on the Jeep campaign.

He said there are plans to connect with a Jeep branch representative for a ”broader conversation.”

”Hopefully something good will come of this, and we can begin a dialogue with Jeep to promote smart use of off-road vehicles as well as conservation of natural resources,” Wood said.

The nerves weren’t quite so bad this time. The jitters Authentic Taron Johnson Jersey , a touch less.

The stuff? Well, that didn’t change a bit for Milwaukee rookie pitcher Freddy Peralta. The 22-year-old handcuffed the Pittsburgh Pirates over six shutout innings and the Brewers held on for a 3-2 victory on Tuesday night.

Peralta (2-0) struck out seven without issuing a walk in his third career start, looking very much like the kid who tied a franchise record by striking out 13 in his major league debut last month. The Brewers sent him down to the minors after his second start to work on his control and he appeared to be firmly in command against the Pirates.

”It was normal, you know,” Peralta said. ”It’s always, work, you know? I was comfortable today with everything: my pitches, the guys behind me, everything.”

Jesus Aguilar finished 2 for 3 and drove in all three runs off Jameson Taillon (4-6). Aguilar hit a two-run shot to the seats in right-center in the first and doubled down the line in left field in the third.

”It was important, especially for Peralta, to just give him a lead right away. That way he feels confident,” Aguilar said.

Corey Knebel worked around a two-out walk in the ninth for his seventh save for the first-place Brewers, who ended a three-game losing streak.

Starling Marte hit his ninth home run of the season in the eighth off Milwaukee reliever Jeremy Jeffress to pull Pittsburgh with one. Jordy Mercer had an RBI double in the seventh but Pittsburgh’s offense mustered little with Peralta on the mound.

The 22-year-old attacked the Pirates high in the strike zone and threw 62 of his 99 pitches for strikes. Only Marte seemed able to generate solid contact. He reached second in the first when Milwaukee right fielder Eric Thames couldn’t handle a drive that bounced off his glove near the wall.

Peralta retired Moran on a lineout and settled in.

”He made pitches,” Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said. ”Kept us off balance with the curveball. Attacked. Very aggressive. Good downhill angle from a guy who’s not tall in stature. He pitched a lot taller than he was height-wise, and got after it.”

Taillon, coming off a solid outing in a win in Arizona last week, had plenty of swing-and-miss stuff – he recorded seven strikeouts in five innings – but had no answer for Aguilar. Lorenzo Cain led off the game with an infield single and two batters later Aguilar put one in the seats to put Milwaukee up 2-0.

”Jesus is a good hitter Authentic Jeremy Kerley Jersey ,” Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell said. ”He’s been a good hitter since the day we got him. I think he’s improving. He’s a hitter that understands pitching. He understands what they’re trying to do to him. He’s got experience now against the league a little bit. The league’s kind of adjusted to him and he’s been able to adjust back.”

A nearly identical sequence happened in the third. Cain reached on an infield hit and Aguilar laced the ball to left with Cain easily beating the throw home.

”Both times hanging breaking balls to Aguilar after an infield hit, he did what he should have done with them,” Taillon said.

OH SAY CAN YOU SEE

Pirates reliever Steven Brault moonlights as the front man in a rock band called The Street Gypsies. He found himself in front of a microphone on Tuesday night, only this time the audience wasn’t a night club but PNC Park. The 26-year-old belted out “The Star-Spangled Banner” before first pitch, delivering on a promise he made to his grandmother.

”I think it went pretty well,” Brault said. ”I was a little more nervous than I thought I would be leading into it. I was fine, and then when I started singing, I was like `Oh, this is pretty cool.”’

TRAINER’S ROOM

Brewers: RHP Zach Davies (right rotator cuff inflammation) was scheduled to make a rehab start for Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday night.

Pirates: OF Austin Meadows was held out of the starting lineup for a second straight game while dealing with a right foot injury suffered when he fouled a ball off it on Sunday. Meadows entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh and struck out to end the inning with runners on second and third.

UP NEXT

Brewers: Brent Suter will make his first career start against the Pirates in the series finale on Wednesday. Suter is 5-1 with a 3.24 ERA in his last six starts and 7-4 with a 4.30 ERA overall.

Pirates: Chad Kuhl (5-3, 3.76) is unbeaten against Milwaukee, going 3-0 with a 1.91 ERA. The Pirates are 6-0 overall in games Kuhl has started against the Brewers.

James Shields of the Chicago White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds play in opposite leagues and rarely see each other, yet they currently have much in common.

Now that they’re starting to make something out of what appeared to be a totally lost season, they’d like to keep it going.

The Reds got off to the worst start in baseball at 8-27, one so bad that getting to .500 looked to be as much of a challenge as winning a division title would be for most teams.

But when the Reds (36-48) take on the right-handed Shields and the White Sox on Monday night at Great American Ball Park, in the teams’ first matchup since 2015, they’ll be one of the majors’ hottest clubs. They’ve won 11 of 14 after taking the final two games of a four-game weekend series against the Milwaukee Brewers, and interim manager Jim Riggleman now has a 33-33 record for a last-place team.

Considering that Riggleman took over a Reds team that was 3-15 under former manager Bryan Price Authentic Trent Murphy Jersey , that’s something of an accomplishment. And the Reds own a 6-1 record in interleague games.

“We know we can play with these teams that are in first place in their division,” Riggleman said.

They’re winning now in grand fashion, too. Jose Peraza hit the team’s major league-leading ninth grand slam Sunday in an 8-2 win over the Brewers, their second in two games (pitcher Michael Lorenzen hit a pinch-grand slam Saturday) and sixth in 17 games. They’ve already tied a club season record.

“We’ve been getting better at-bats … and we’ve happened to have men on base,” Riggleman said.

Cincinnati starter Matt Harvey pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings before being lifted after a rain delay, and the Reds dealt Brewers rookie Freddy Peralta (3-1), who gave up three runs in five innings, his first major league loss. Peralta allowed only one hit in seven shutout innings against the Kansas City Royals in his previous start.

“That’s probably the best I’ve felt since 2013,” said Harvey (4-5), who won his third straight start.

Shields (3-9), likewise, is beginning to see a ray of sunshine in what previously was a gloomy season. He’s coming off his best start of the year, pitching seven shutout innings and giving up four hits Wednesday in a 6-1 win over the Minnesota Twins. It was his 12th quality start of the season, or five more than he had all of last season.

Shields still isn’t the pitcher that won 13 or more games seven times from 2008 to 2015, but it hasn’t helped that he’s pitching for a team that’s off to the second worst start in franchise history. He has allowed a respectable six earned runs in his last four starts, and twice yielded one or no runs while lasting at least seven innings.

At age 36, Shields is making adjustments to compensate for his decreased velocity Authentic Isaiah Oliver Jersey , yet has pitched at least six innings in 12 of his last 13 starts for a last-place team.

“My body’s feeling really good this year, and this is kind of what I’ve done my whole career,” Shields told reporters after the game against the Twins. “I strive to go as deep as I possibly can in games and so far it’s been good.

“I’m not throwing as hard as I used to. If I were to throw over the top, I’d still throw a little harder than I am right now. (But) at the end of the day, I’m feeling really good with my delivery right now, my mechanics. It’s been a lot of fun making these adjustments.”

Shields goes against Reds right-hander Luis Castillo (5-8), who was 1-3 with a 6.75 ERA in five June starts. He retired the first 11 batters he faced Wednesday at Atlanta, only to give up four quick runs on a walk and five consecutive singles, although the Reds came back to win 6-5.

Castillo is 0-1 in two starts against American League clubs this season, giving up eight runs in six innings. He has never faced the White Sox.

Shields is 18-18 with a 4.57 ERA in interleague play and 0-2 in two career starts against the Reds, the last of which was in 2015.

The White Sox (29-54) ended a three-game losing streak Sunday by salvaging the final game of a three-game series against the Texas Rangers, winning 10-5 as Avisail Garcia went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI.

The Reds have won five consecutive interleague games but are facing the White Sox at Great American Ball Park for the first time since 2009. The White Sox are 16-4 overall against the Reds and 10-2 in Cincinnati, though that success there predated any of the current players.

Trevor Williams has been pitching in the majors for less than two full seasons. Still Vincent Rey Jersey , he’s come to understand the ups and downs that come with the sport.

”Baseball kicks your (behind),” Williams said. ”The highs are so high, and the lows are so low. You have to stay even-keeled.”

Williams bounced back from recent struggles by pitching one-hit ball over seven innings and two Pittsburgh Pirates relievers closed out a two-hitter in a 1-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night.

Williams (6-4) struck out seven and walked two for his first victory in a month and after he had allowed a combined 12 runs in six innings in his previous two starts. Jordy Mercer drove in the lone run with a seventh-inning double, and the Pirates won for the fourth time in five games.

The Brewers entered the day leading the NL Central but suffered their third straight loss.

The only hit off Williams was a single by Jonathan Villar with two outs in the fourth. The hit followed a walk to Hernan Perez, and the duo executed a double steal before Erik Kratz struck out to end the inning.

Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle thought fastball command made the difference for Williams.

”Up, down, in, out. It was just an outstanding performance,” Hurdle said.

Williams had gone 0-2 in five starts since beating the Chicago White Sox on May 15.

”He hit his spots,” Milwaukee right fielder Christian Yelich said. ”He was throwing everything for strikes. When a guy is doing that and he’s not really missing over the plate much, it’s a tough night.”

Kyle Crick pitched a perfect eighth inning for Pittsburgh. Yelich singled off closer Felipe Vazquez to open the ninth, ending a string of 13 straight Brewers retired. Vazquez retired the next three hitters for his 14th save in 18 opportunities.

Francisco Cervelli drew a one-out walk in the Pirates’ seventh and advanced to third on Josh Bell’s single. Josh Hader relieved Jhoulys Chacin and struck out Gregory Polanco, but Mercer followed by doubling down the left-field line to score Cervelli.

”The way both guys were pitching, I think everyone started to think that one or maybe two runs and that was going to be the ballgame,” Mercer said.

The run was charged to Chacin (6-2), who had won his previous six decisions and not lost in 13 starts since April 4 against St. Louis. Chacin allowed six hits, struck out two and walked two.

Cervelli had two hits to snap a 0-for-13 skid.

”I feel like I was throwing the ball well,” Chacin said. ”I was making pitches when I had to. In the last inning, I gave up the hit Authentic Albert Wilson Jersey , but I was more frustrated that I walked Cervelli. That was the guy I couldn’t get out.”

TRIBUTE TO UECKER

As a surprise tribute to Bob Uecker, the Brewers traveling party dressed in loud sportscoats – popularized by the Hall of Fame broadcaster during his frequent guest appearances on The Tonight Show – for the flight from Milwaukee to Pittsburgh on Sunday night.

Manager Craig Counsell said he had hoped to replicate an outfit Uecker once wore that included a turtleneck sweater with a belt and a pair of bellbottom slacks. Alas, Counsell came up empty in his search for such garb.

PIRATES MOVES

The Pirates activated right-handed reliever Richard Rodriguez from the 10-day disabled list, recalled infielder/outfielder Jose Osuna from Triple-A Indianapolis and optioned right-handed reliever Dovydas Neverauskas and catcher Jacob Stallings to Indianapolis.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Brewers: 3B Travis Shaw (sore right wrist) was given the night off after being injured Sunday during a swing in a loss to Philadelphia.

Pirates: Rodriguez had been out since June 7 with right shoulder inflammation.

UP NEXT

Brewers: RHP Freddy Peralta (1-0, 3.72 ERA) is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start Tuesday night. The rookie made two starts with the Brewers earlier this season, including striking out 13 in 5 2/3 innings at Colorado on May 13 in his major league debut, and is 6-1 with a 2.75 ERA in 12 starts with Colorado Springs.

Pirates: RHP Jameson Taillon (4-5, 3.94) is 2-1 with a 2.73 ERA in his last four starts and 1-3 with a 3.47 ERA in seven career starts against Milwaukee.

Hunter Pence retooled his swing under the guidance of a hitting guru while rehabbing in the minors from a right thumb sprain.

A few days ago, he went back to a few things from the old approach and adjusted his stance.

”A smorgasbord weird Hunter Pence swing,” San Francisco’s spirited outfielder said, poking fun at himself.

Pence certainly liked the result Sunday, when he hit a two-run double down the first-base line with the bases loaded and one out in the 11th inning to send the Giants past the San Diego Padres 3-2.

”Still always a work in progress, you never completely figure it out and every day is different. That’s the fun of it,” said Pence, who has primarily been a backup since returning earlier this month from a 40-game absence.

One of his teammates pulled open his uniform shirt in celebration, leaving only the top button intact. Pence said he might require a new jersey.

”Ecstatic,” manager Bruce Bochy said. ”It’s been a tough road for him.”

Brad Hand (1-4) got in trouble fast. He allowed Andrew McCutchen’s one-out double, then intentionally walked Buster Posey and hit Brandon Crawford with his first offering. Pence followed with his 11th career walk-off hit and first since another against Hand two years ago. Pence raised his arms once the ball got past first baseman Eric Hosmer.

Cory Spangenberg had put San Diego ahead in the top of the 11th with a single.

Manuel Margot led off the game with a home run, and drew a leadoff walk in the 11th from San Francisco reliever Reyes Moronta. After Ty Blach (5-5) relieved Authentic Daniel Kilgore Jersey , Spangenberg singled off first baseman Brandon Belt’s glove.

A solo homer by each team was it until the 11th.

Belt hit a two-out double in the eighth against Kirby Yates. Padres right fielder Hunter Renfroe made a magnificent catch in foul territory on McCutchen’s flyball, rolling into the first row of fans after the grab.

Posey doubled and singled for the Giants, who concluded a stretch of 17 straight games without a break.

Margot began the game with a 3-2 drive into the left-field bleachers for his second homer of the year. It was his fifth career leadoff home run after hitting four last season. The Giants tied it on a leadoff homer by Gorkys Hernandez in the sixth, his ninth after none in 2017.

McCutchen’s one-out single in the fourth was the Giants’ first hit off Padres starter Eric Lauer.

Giants rookie Dereck Rodriguez stuck out six and walked one over seven innings, allowing one run on four hits in his fifth major league start and third at home – where he remains unbeaten.

STOCK’S DEBUT

The Giants’ rally spoiled a chance for victory by journeyman reliever Robert Stock in his long-awaited major league debut at age 28. He worked out of a tough spot in the 10th after a call-up earlier in the day from Triple-A El Paso.

Joe Panik doubled leading off the 10th before Stock retired the side with a pair of strikeouts.

Stock’s parents were in the stands at AT&T Park in case he got the call.

”I think that knowing the trials and tribulations that some people go through over an entire minor league career as opposed to some people get there like that, maybe makes you appreciate it more,” Stock said.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Padres: Travis Jankowski was a late scratch with left quadriceps soreness and Matt Szczur replaced him in left field. … C Austin Hedges went hitless in his return from the disabled list. He was activated and started, batting seventh, after being sidelined since May 1 with tendinitis in his right elbow. … RHP Jordan Lyles, scratched in the bottom of the first Saturday just before his scheduled start, was placed on the DL retroactive to Thursday with inflammation in his pitching elbow. He will go home to San Diego and be examined Monday but the injury isn’t considered serious – there is believed to be no structural damage – and as of now the training staff didn’t plan to do any additional exams, though manager Andy Green acknowledged that could change.

Giants: Bochy is encouraged by RHP Johnny Cueto’s first rehab outing as he works back from a sprained pitching elbow. Cueto went 3 2-3 scoreless innings throwing 38 pitches with no walks for Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday and rejoined the Giants on Sunday for a bullpen session. The plan is for another off the mound in five days and likely two more rehab starts, and the next could be with Class A San Jose. ”Right now he feels great,” Bochy said.

UP NEXT

Padres: LHP Joey Lucchesi (3-3, 3.86 ERA) takes the mound for the series opener at Texas, making his second start since returning from the DL for a right hip strain.

Giants: Following their first off day since June 7 on Monday, LHP Derek Holland (5-7, 4.48) will pitch Tuesday night against Colorado looking to win back-to-back outings for the first time in 2018.

The Eagles needed touchdowns on a blocked punt Authentic John Franklin-Myers Jersey , interception return and punt return to beat the New England Patriots the last time the teams met in 2015.

They don’t think it’ll take another set of unusual scores to win the Super Bowl.

Malcolm Jenkins, Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Vinny Curry, Mychal Kendricks and Beau Allen are six key defensive players left from a team that upset the Patriots 35-28 at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 6, 2015. It was former coach Chip Kelly’s next-to-last win before Philadelphia fired him later that month.

”I think we match up well,” Jenkins said. ”They’ve obviously got a great system, great offense, probably the best quarterback of all time, a great tight end, speedy receivers. They’ve got a real good scheme, and they isolate people, but if there’s any defense out there that can match up with every single person, I think it’s this defense, so we’re looking forward to it.”

Jenkins intercepted Tom Brady’s deflected pass and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown to give the Eagles a 21-14 lead after they overcame a 14-0 deficit. They got a 24-yard TD return by Najee Goode off a blocked punt and Darren Sproles took a punt 83 yards for a score.

But the Patriots were missing Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Dion Lewis in that game. They’ll see Lewis on the field this time around, and possibly Gronkowski if he recovers from a concussion.

”We have to play 60 minutes against them,” Cox said. ”What makes Tom Brady unique is he gets rid of the football so quickly, and he doesn’t really make any mistakes. It’s going to come down to us getting after them. It’s about us, it’s not about them.”

Graham sacked Brady twice and hit him three other times the last time they played. He knows pressuring Brady without having to blitz is the key to success.

”If you can get to him with four, you’re on the right track because Tom Brady is the GOAT (greatest of all time),” Graham said. ”He’s the man and everybody understands you’ve got to play him for 60 minutes Kenny Clark Jersey , sometimes even longer if you go overtime. You’ve got to get after him, get him rattled, because he’s the head of that team and everybody knows it.”

The Eagles have the NFL’s No. 1 defense against the run and were fourth overall in yards allowed and points allowed. They’ve stepped it up in the playoffs, giving up just 17 points to the Falcons and Vikings. One of those two TD drives was only 18 yards after a fumble. They haven’t allowed a point in the second half.

Given their success this season and the last time they faced Brady and the Patriots as 10-point underdogs 25 months ago, the Eagles are confident they’ll bring home the franchise’s first Vince Lombardi Trophy.

”Greatest quarterback of all time, but that doesn’t mean that he’s unbeatable,” Jenkins said of Brady. ”We’ve got a destination that we’re geared to. No matter who’s in front of us, we’ve got somewhere to go. We’re not worried about what’s in front. We’re going to run through what’s there.”

Baltimore Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley has no problem discussing the gut-wrenching way his season ended.

He’s talked about it with family and friends for nearly a month and openly shared his thoughts with fellow Pro Bowl players this week.

At breakfast. In the locker room. On the practice field.

He’s also gotten plenty of sympathetic support.

After all, the New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars know exactly how Mosley feels.

Players from all those teams are still trying to deal with the way they exited the postseason.

”You talk about it because that’s the life of the NFL,” Mosley said Thursday. ”You fight and fight, and it always comes down to the last two minutes or the last play of the game.”

The Pro Bowl has become a gathering spot for the brokenhearted, a place to laugh, smile and joke through lingering disappointment.

”When it’s the last game of the season, it definitely sticks with you a lot longer,” Mosley said. ”It was tough, but you’ve got to live and learn from it. It just builds calluses, as Coach (John) Harbaugh says, and you try to redeem yourself next season.”

The Ravens looked as if they were headed to the playoffs in the final minute of the final game of the regular season. But Baltimore gave up a crushing, 49-yard touchdown pass with 44 seconds remaining and lost 31-27 loss to Cincinnati. The outcome put Buffalo in the playoffs for the first time since the 1999 season.

”I know they helped us out, but to have pretty much a home playoff game and lose to a team that’s not having a good year, that’s difficult Kevin Huber Jersey ,” Bills guard Richie Incognito said.

Incognito and other Pro Bowlers felt as if Baltimore’s stunning setback took a backseat to others in the playoffs.

New Orleans was poised to beat Minnesota in an NFC divisional game until Case Keenum completed a last-ditch heave to Stefon Diggs, who turned it into a 61-yard touchdown reception that gave the Vikings a 29-24 victory. Rookie safety Marcus Williams whiffed trying to tackle Diggs near the sideline.

”That’s tough to go and do that,” Incognito said. ”You’re in and out of it in a game like New Orleans-Minnesota and then you lose it on the last play. That’s just demoralizing. That’s going to be in that kid’s head forever.”

It dominated conversation in Minnesota for a week – until the Vikings got thumped at Philadelphia while trying to become the first team in NFL history to make the Super Bowl in its home stadium.

”That’s why you keep doing things like this, try to enjoy the moment, live in the moment and actually try to get that game off your mind,” Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes said.

”I can’t tell you how long it’s going to take, but it’ll take very long if people keep asking me questions about the game. But eventually it’ll pass.

”We’ve got to look forward to next year and hopefully we’ll go to the Super Bowl.”

Tampa Bay defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said Minnesota’s loss was the toughest to watch in the postseason.

”You have that miracle catch and that happens in the NFC title game,” McCoy said. ”That hurts. I think they just couldn’t get over the fact of how they won and it just didn’t carry over to the next game.”

Jacksonville will carry its collapse into next season, too.

The Jaguars had a 10-point lead at New England in the fourth quarter in the AFC title game. Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champs were so desperate to get back in the game that they turned to trick plays.

”You’ve got the champs on the ropes, everything’s flowing, you feel like you’re going to win the game, you’re out-physically them and then Tom Brady takes over,” Incognito said.

Incognito and several Jaguars defenders talked about the loss during breakfast this week, with Incognito identifying the session as ”telling war stories about Tommy.”

All of them – the Jaguars, the Vikings, the Saints and the Ravens – could take solace in knowing it could be worse. The Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead to the Patriots in the Super Bowl last February.

”It’s takes a while,” Falcons safety Keanu Neal said. ”You’ve got to forget, just get right. It takes a second. It’s going to hurt because the opportunity was there, but time heals everything.”

Late last month Authentic Phillip Gaines Jersey , when the New York Mets were on the road, a display case at Citi Field went up in flames.

Just like their 2018 season.

Nobody got hurt in the fire, which was extinguished by an automatic sprinkler system, and damage was minimal, according to the team.

If only it were that simple to fix the product on the field.

With the Mets sinking fast toward the bottom of the National League standings, baseball operations were turned over Tuesday to a trio of Sandy Alderson’s assistants as the 70-year-old general manager made the stunning announcement that he was stepping down because his cancer has returned.

John Ricco, J.P. Ricciardi and Omar Minaya have decades of front office experience between them, both in New York and elsewhere around the majors. But it might take all three to clean up this mess, and time is of the essence.

”We’re well below our expectations, from ownership on down,” chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon said. ”Talk to the baseball department, talk to the scouting department, talk to the development department, coaches, the players – nobody expected to be in this position.”

Alderson’s indefinite leave of absence comes at a critical juncture for the languishing Mets (32-46) ahead of the July 31 trade deadline.

Needing to accrue young talent, they’ll probably try to sell off pending free agents such as shaky closer Jeurys Familia and switch-hitting second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera for whatever they can get.

But ace pitchers Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard could fetch an enormous return, and the club must decide whether to undertake such a sweeping overhaul at this stage – without a general manager in place.

”We’re going to talk about that. We just kind of got into this,” Ricco told reporters Wednesday. ”For me, everything has to be on the table. But you’ve got to look long and hard before you move a game-changing, top-of-the-rotation pitcher.”

Even with last season’s 70-92 finish in mind Authentic Marshall Newhouse Jersey , Ricco didn’t sound as though a total tear-down was likely. At least not yet.

So how do the aging Mets, not even two years removed from consecutive playoff appearances, re-energize their injury-prone team and turn it around?

The offense is stagnant. The defense is deplorable at times. The bullpen has been horrendous since New York’s 12-2 start and requires a complete rebuild next year.

Due in large part to leg injuries and a hip problem that Alderson called ”somewhat chronic,” slugger Yoenis Cespedes has played in less than half of the Mets’ games since signing a $110 million, four-year contract in November 2016. He has a no-trade clause and almost certainly isn’t going anywhere. New York needs to figure out how to get him back in the lineup.

Banged-up right fielder Jay Bruce, also in his 30s and sidelined by a hip injury, is batting .212 with three home runs, 17 RBIs and a paltry .613 OPS in the first season of a $39 million, three-year deal.

Touted prospects Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith have flopped at the plate so far.

”That’s what we’ve been charged with: improving this club,” Ricco said. ”Obviously, the trade deadline is coming up and that’s a big pressure point in which to better your club, and certainly we are going to take advantage of that and look to be active.”

Syndergaard, like several Mets stars, is on the disabled list again with a strained ligament in his index finger but could be back next month. The 25-year-old right-hander can’t become a free agent until after the 2021 season.

As for deGrom, he just turned 30 and leads the majors with a 1.69 ERA going into Friday night’s scheduled start at last-place Miami. Still a salary bargain relative to his brilliant performance, deGrom is under club control through the 2020 season.

Both pitchers were instrumental in leading New York to the 2015 World Series.

”We know what we have in those two,” Alderson said last week. ”At the same time, you never say never.”

In the end, maybe the Mets will choose instead to shop mid-rotation starters Zack Wheeler and Steven Matz. Both are fully healthy for the first time in years, and their stuff looks crisp.

Of course Authentic Marquis Haynes Jersey , New York could simply wait until the winter to settle on a strategy – perhaps after a new GM has been hired.

Regardless of what happens over the next few months, it appears the team plans to conduct a search that includes external candidates at the end of the season.

That also might affect the status of first-year manager Mickey Callaway, hired by Alderson last fall.

So many questions. No easy answers.

Alderson said his prognosis is good but he doesn’t expect to be back on the job at any point, partly because his health is uncertain but also because he’s not sure it would be ”warranted.”

Whoever winds up in charge, if they keep deGrom and Syndergaard, the Mets maintain at least the foundation of a potentially competitive squad for the next two years, provided Cespedes and some other key pieces finally manage to stay healthy.

But the team might also be bypassing an opportunity to trade deGrom at peak value, running the risk that he or Syndergaard will get seriously injured before those chips are cashed.

And then there’s this tricky little complication: One of the October contenders in hot pursuit of top-notch starting pitching is the New York Yankees.

With a stocked farm system, they could be a perfect trade partner for the Mets – a buzzy topic that’s generated plenty of fodder for sports-talk radio in New York.

Mike Trout will be the Los Angeles Angels‘ designated hitter for his 1,000th career game Thursday night because of a sprained right index finger.

The Angels don’t expect to use Trout in the outfield during this four-game set against Toronto, but manager Mike Scioscia says the injury is not serious. Scioscia says it will not hinder Trout’s ability to grip or swing the bat.

Trout is batting .448 with five home runs and 12 RBIs in June. During an eight-game hitting streak, Trout is 16 for 23 (.696).

Tyler Skaggs was scratched from his scheduled start Thursday because of tightness in his right hamstring. Left-hander John Lamb (0-0, 3.60 ERA) will take his place.

With 13 players already on the disabled list, including nine pitchers, Scioscia said the team wanted to be cautious with Skaggs. Scioscia says there was a chance Skaggs could start Sunday, ”but he has to pitch, obviously, with no restrictions.”

A pair of two-homer performances. A bases-loaded triple Youth Josh Jackson Jersey , followed by another triple. So many unusual things went into Chicago’s biggest comeback of the season that even the White Sox had trouble keeping track.

No matter. They’ll take it.

Daniel Palka and Avisail Garcia each homered twice, and Yoan Moncada tripled with the bases loaded in the 12th inning as the White Sox pulled off their biggest comeback and beat the Cincinnati Reds 12-8 on Tuesday night.

”Well, a lot going on today,” manager Rick Renteria said.

It was a night of non-stop offense, right from the outset.

Trailing 7-2 after five innings, the White Sox pulled even in the ninth on Garcia’s solo homer off Raisel Iglesias, then pulled it out with the help of a couple of Reds errors.

”That last inning was tough,” said Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett, whose error opened the way.

The White Sox loaded the bases with a walk and two errors. Moncada’s opposite-field triple off Jackson Stephens (2-1) broke the tie, and Yolmer Sanchez followed with another triple.

Hector Santiago (3-3) fanned six in two innings as the White Sox extended their domination in the interleague series. They’re 17-5 all-time against the Reds, including 11-3 in Cincinnati.

”Surreal,” said Chicago starter Lucas Giolito Youth Taven Bryan Jersey , who gave up three homers but wound up on the winning side. ”From my perspective, I didn’t get the job done. It’s an awesome feeling that these guys play hard behind you.”

Jim Riggleman was ejected by plate umpire Eric Cooper during Chicago’s winning rally, his first ejection as the Reds’ interim manager. They had words as Riggleman was signaling from the dugout for an intentional walk.

”Then he made some comment that I didn’t like,” Riggleman said. ”That’s kind of how the whole game went.”

The Reds got the better of a free-swinging game early on, surging ahead 4-0 before Giolito could record an out. Jose Peraza opened with a triple, Gennett hit his 14th homer , Joey Votto walked, and Eugenio Suarez followed with his 17th homer . Suarez performed a salsa dance with Votto after he crossed the plate.

Adam Duvall added a three-run shot into the upper deck in left field in the fifth inning off Giolito for a 7-2 lead, the second time in his career that the right-hander has allowed three homers in a game.

Anthony DeSclafani also gave up a career-high three homers – two by Palka and one by Garcia, who went 3 for 6 and extended his hitting streak to a career-high 13 games.

INTERLEAGUE

The White Sox are 4-10 in interleague play this season. The Reds are 7-2. The loss snapped their streak of six straight wins against the AL.

LONG TIME COMING

The last time the White Sox and Reds played an extra-inning game was Game 6 of the ”Black Sox” World Series in 1919. Chicago won that game 5-4 in 10 innings at Crosley Field.

HOMECOMING

Giolito started the Futures Game as part of the All-Star festivities at Great American Ball Park in 2015 and pitched two scoreless innings .

SLOPPY, SLOPPY

The Reds committed a season-high four errors – two by Suarez at third, one by Peraza at shortstop and one by Gennett at second base.

ROBBED … SORT OF

Sanchez’s triple in the 12th came on a weird play. Right fielder Brandon Dixon stretched above the wall and grabbed the fly ball – robbing Sanchez of a homer – but the glove flipped off his hand as he hit the wall and the ball deflected back onto the field.

TRAINER’S ROOM

White Sox: Jose Abreu was out of the lineup a day after he fouled a pitch off his left ankle. X-rays were negative. Abreu pinch hit in the 11th inning and grounded out.

Reds: Homer Bailey threw 103 pitches in 6 2/3 innings of a rehab appearance for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday night Youth Keke Coutee Jersey , giving up one run and seven hits while fanning eight. Bailey has been sidelined since June 2 by a sore right knee.

UP NEXT

White Sox: Dylan Covey (3-3) is 0-1 with a 12.71 ERA in his last three starts, walking 12 in 11 1/3 innings and giving up 16 runs.

Reds: Sal Romano (4-8) went 1-2 with a 3.90 ERA in five June starts. He’s been limited to five innings in four of his last six starts.

Kyle Gibson recovered from a rough start to throw seven innings, and Max Kepler homered in his second straight game to lead Minnesota past Baltimore 5-4 on Saturday.

Bobby Wilson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Twins, who won their third in a row.

Gibson (3-6) allowed three runs in the first inning – including a two-run homer by Chris Davis – but only gave up two hits after that while striking out nine. It was Gibson’s highest strikeout total since fanning 10 batters on April 26 against the New York Yankees.

Kepler’s solo shot off Kevin Gausman sparked a three-run fifth that tied it. Wilson’s two-run double off Miguel Castro (2-5) in the sixth gave Minnesota the lead for good.

The team with baseball’s worst record, meanwhile, lost its fifth in the row.

Trevor Hildenberger worked a scoreless eighth for the Twins. Jace Peterson’s RBI double off Fernando Rodney pulled the Orioles to 5-4, but Rodney got Tim Beckham on a grounder to short to convert his 19th save in 24 chances.

CUBS 8, REDS 7

CHICAGO – Javier Baez homered and had four hits – including a game-tying infield single in the eighth – and Chicago rallied from a five-run deficit and over Cincinnati.

Anthony Rizzo’s RBI groundout capped a four-run eighth inning for Chicago, which has come from behind in each of its last eight wins.

Eugenio Suarez homered and Billy Hamilton added three hits and three stolen bases for Cincinnati, which had its five-game winning streak against the Cubs snapped.

Randy Rosario (4-0) allowed two hits in 2 1/3 innings to get the win. Brandon Marrow worked the ninth for his 20th save.

Jared Hughes (2-3) took the loss, part of three Reds relievers who allowed five runs in 2 1/3 innings.

PHILLIES 3, PIRATES 2

PITTSBURGH – Nick Williams Youth Quenton Nelson Jersey , Scott Kingery and Jorge Alfaro drove in runs on consecutive at-bats in the seventh inning to help Philadelphia beat Pittsburgh and extend the first-place Phillies‘ winning streak to six games.

Jake Arrieta (6-6) worked around six hits with the help of eight strikeouts to hold the Pirates to two runs over seven innings.

Pirates starter Jameson Taillon (5-7) was charged with all three runs. He had allowed just two singles coming into the seventh. He struck out eight and walked none.

Starling Marte singled and scored in the first and homered in the second as part of a three-hit afternoon to stake the Pirates to an early lead.

Victor Arano worked around a leadoff double in the ninth for his second save.

CARDINALS 3, GIANTS 2

SAN FRANCISCO – Carlos Martinez pitched seven effective innings for his third consecutive win and St. Louis beat San Francisco.

Martinez (6-4) allowed one run on six hits with three strikeouts and did not walk a batter for the third time this season. The right-hander also drove in the Cardinals’ first run with an RBI double in the third.

Jordan Hicks allowed a run in the eighth and Bud Norris retired three batters for his 17th save.

Brandon Belt had three hits and drove in both runs for the Giants. San Francisco has been held to two runs or fewer in five of its last six games.

Jeff Samardzija had an uneven outing in his first start since May 29. Activated off the disabled list before the game, Samardzija (1-5) gave up three runs in five innings and repeatedly pitched with runners on base.

BRAVES 5, BREWERS 1

MILWAUKEE – Anibal Sanchez pitched effectively into the seventh and Freddie Freeman added three hits, lifting slumping Atlanta over Milwaukee.

Sanchez (4-2) retired 19 in a row at one point to help snap Atlanta’s season high four-game skid. He exited with two outs in the seventh after being hit by a liner on his right hip.

Atlanta got to Brewers spot starter Aaron Wilkerson (0-1) early to end Milwaukee’s five-game winning streak. Wilkerson had taken the rotation turn of Brent Suter, who went on the 10-day disabled list with left forearm tightness on Friday.

Sanchez struck out six in a row at one point. But after two easy outs in the seventh, his day ended quickly following a walk to Hernan Perez.

TIGERS 7, RANGERS 2

DETROIT – Nicholas Castellanos homered as part of a seven-run first inning for Detroit, and the Tigers cruised past Texas.

Cole Hamels (4-8) retired only two batters for the Rangers in his shortest start since 2010, and Adrian Beltre had a home run taken away when Detroit’s JaCoby Jones made a spectacular catch in left-center field.

Mike Fiers (6-5) allowed a run and five hits in six innings. He struck out six with one walk.

Rougned Odor hit a solo homer for Texas immediately after Beltre was robbed by Jones. Shin-Soo Choo doubled twice for the Rangers to extend his on-base streak to 46 games, tying Julio Franco’s club record set in 1993.

Niko Goodrum had four hits for the Tigers.

YANKEES 8, BLUE JAYS 5

TORONTO – Luis Severino pitched five innings to earn his major league-leading 14th win Youth Mike Hughes Jersey , Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge each hit solo home runs, and New York beat Toronto.

Severino (14-2) won his fifth straight start, allowing three runs and five hits. Two of the hits were home runs, marking the first time this season that Severino has allowed more than one homer in a game. He has allowed three earned runs or less in 16 consecutive starts.

Jonathan Holder, David Robertson, Dellin Betances each worked one inning and Aroldis Chapman got the first out of the ninth before leaving with an apparent injury. Chasen Shreve finished for New York, giving up a solo homer to Aledmys Diaz.

J.A. Happ (10-5), a potential trade target for the Yankees, had a dreadful audi
